Continuing a strong tradition of giving back to the local community in each host destination, delegates at the 57th ICCA Congress in Dubai raised a total of €5,555 and collected 591 pairs of glasses for local blindness prevention charity Noor Dubai Foundation through a number of initiatives.
ICCA’s Regional Director Asia Pacific Noor Ahmad Hamid experienced a career highlight at the 11th China Meetings Industry Convention (CMIC) in Beijing in December, when he became the first non-Chinese recipient of the China MICE Hall of Figures Award, a prestigious accolade which honours those who have contributed to the advancement of China’s meetings industry.

Only four years after joining the meeting industry Anja Stas, CCO of Flanders Meeting and Convention Center Antwerp, joins the ICCA board as co-chair for the Sector Venues. She was elected with a vast majority of the votes.
During the General Assembly at the 57th ICCA Congress in Dubai, ICCA announced FIEXPO Latin America as the first “ICCA Language Champion”, marking the launch of ICCA’s first venture into providing multilingual services to its members. Providing Spanish translations of ICCA’s most important advisory publications and digital resources, the “ICCA Language Champion” programme will ensure more ICCA members have access to valuable meetings industry expertise in their native languages.
