The Barcelona International Convention Center (CCIB) has refreshed its corporate image with the aim of updating and modernising its identity, which has been in place for 20 years.

The proposal, characterised by blue tones and shapes evoking the building's profile, reinforces its current positioning as an international benchmark in hosting congresses and conventions. It embodies values based on excellence, innovation, and commitment to generating a positive impact in its environment.

Since its inauguration in 2004, the CCIB has hosted more than 1,800 events, drawing in more than 8 million attendees, as well as having a direct and indirect economic impact of more than €5 billion. The venue has been at the heart of major international congresses and conventions and is renowned in the MICE industry all over the world. In November 2021, management was taken over by Fira de Barcelona, boosting its competitiveness, strengthening its international position and managing the city's three main venues in an integrated way.

After two decades, the logo has been given a makeover to make it more visual, attractive and adapted to new digital channels, creating an identity that evokes the unique geometries and architectural shapes of the Convention Centre and the CCIB Fórum Auditorium. Furthermore, blue has been kept as the corporate colour, although with a more Mediterranean tone, set against new secondary colours that give it greater personality, expression and creativity.

According to the CCIB General Manager, Marc Rodríguez, “the new image reflects our values and the future we are pursuing. An identity that we have been collaborating on over the last few months to assert what has made us unique over the last 20 years and to represent a new stage of transformation, with a clear focus on society and our clients."

Making the difference

The CCIB has also launched a new brand positioning. Its slogan, Making the difference, strives to convey a unique value proposition, making it stand out from the competition, with an excellence- and commitment-centred way of doing things, while driving the development of the local environment.

In 2023, the CCIB achieved its all-time record turnover of €43.4 million, an increase of 26% when compared with 2022, and hosted 92 events that drew in 370,000 attendees. This year, the CCIB has around one hundred events lined up and maintains an excellent future outlook.
