Over a thousand business delegates will descend on Western Australia in 2025 for Routes Asia, the leading aviation and tourism trade event of the Asia-Pacific region.

The event will take place at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (cover photo) from 25 – 27 March 2025, and has been secured by the Western Australian Government, through Tourism Western Australia and in partnership with Business Events Perth and Business Events Australia.

The aviation route development event will attract key leaders from airlines, airports, and tourism sectors across the globe to discuss new aviation connections.

The conference was confirmed for Western Australia at the CAPA World Aviation Summit 2023 in Abu Dhabi after Tourism WA, Business Events Perth, Business Events Australia and Perth Airport were successful in their competitive bid to host the event.

Tourism WA Managing Director Carolyn Turnbull said the agency was passionate about expanding WA’s aviation connections to grow Perth’s reputation as the Western Gateway to Australia: “Hosting Routes Asia 2025 is an amazing opportunity for WA as it allows us to build on our work to secure even more direct flight connections between Perth and nearby countries across Asia.”

“I’d like to thank Business Events Perth, Business Events Australia and Perth Airport for their support in securing this premier event in WA. I look forward to welcoming aviation travel and trade leaders to our state and vibrant capital city in a little over 18 months' time,” she said.

Tourism WA is the WA Government agency responsible for promoting Western Australia as a holiday and events destination, and to inspire more people to visit WA from Australia and around the world.

Western Australia Recognises Eleven of the State's Brightest Minds

Business Events Perth CEO Gareth Martin said he was delighted for Perth to have been selected as the host destination for Routes Asia 2025: "This marks a significant milestone for WA and actively opens doors to increased global connectivity, advancing aviation access, business travel and leisure tourism opportunities.”

“The collective bid partnership between Tourism Western Australia, Perth Airport, Tourism Australia – Business Events Australia and Business Events Perth is testament to our collaborative approach in driving business event visitation as well as targeting future potential aviation capacity,” he said.

Business Events Perth is funded by the Western Australian Government through Tourism Western Australia, the City of Perth, and their member partners across the State. BE Perth has been securing high value conferences and incentive groups for Western Australia for over 50 years.

Tourism Australia Managing Director Phillipa Harrison said given aviation’s importance to Australian tourism, it was especially pleasing to support Perth’s successful bid to host Routes Asia 2025 via the Business Events Bid Fund Program.

“Tourism Australia’s Business Events Bid Fund continues to secure a strong pipeline of international business events across Australia, including this latest event for Perth, Western Australia,” she said, and continues: “it also demonstrates that Australia continues to attract important international meetings which will deliver significant benefits to the visitor economy.”

Tourism Australia is the Australian Government agency responsible for attracting international visitors to Australia, both for leisure and business events. The organisation is active in 15 key markets and activities include advertising, PR and media programs, trade shows and industry programs, consumer promotions, online communications and consumer research.
