Since the opening of the airport in 1998, Hong Kong International Airport is celebrating its 20 years anniversary this year. As the world’s busiest cargo gateway and one of the most important passenger airports, Hong Kong International Airport is creating close connections with Mainland China and Macao by offering extensive land and sea connections to cities throughout Shenzhen Bay and Macao.

SkyPier Ferry Transfer connects Hong Kong International Airport to 9 ports in region and offers travellers direct connections to about 220 destinations in the world. Passengers can check-in to their Hong Kong flights via the upstream check-in services at ferry ports and land stations. Transit passengers traveling with SkyPier are advised to travel with sufficient connection time before check-in. The suggested minimum connection time is 120 minutes. The minimum connection time for passengers who have checked in can be shortened to 90 minutes.

Hong Kong International Airport offers Baggage Tag Through Service for passengers traveling from Mainland and Macao, which will allow travellers to transfer their baggage to final destination.

The connections are not only through the sky and sea. The Mainland Transport and Travel Services Counters in the Coach Station of Terminal 2 provides one-stop transport and travel package services. For travellers to destinations such as Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Huizhou, Foshan and Zhongshan, Coach services are available via different cross-boundary land control points.
