WorldBuilder Summit, a new conference focused on the rapidly expanding user-generated content (UGC) gaming economy, will make its first move into the EMEA market with a London edition at Olympia’s new International Convention Centre (ICC) on 11 November.

The event follows the summit’s inaugural conference in Los Angeles earlier this year, which brought together 260 creators, brands, IP owners and ecosystem partners. Its first international edition is expected to attract around 300 creators and industry leaders from the UK and wider European market to London.

The choice of London reflects both the city’s international connectivity and its established links with the UGC and wider creative industries. For Olympia, meanwhile, the combination of flexible conference facilities with hospitality and accommodation formed an important part of the venue proposition.

“We wanted the European summit to feel like a genuine meeting point for creators, platforms and partners, with opportunities to connect well beyond the formal conference programme.

“Olympia gives us the modern infrastructure and fluid connectivity between spaces to do just that. The ICC, hotels, restaurants and bars all sit within one connected destination, creating the kind of concentrated environment where a community like ours can spend more meaningful time together.”

For Scott Benzie, Founder of WorldBuilder Summit, the venue’s integrated environment supports an event model built around community as much as formal content. That approach also reflects the nature of the sector the summit serves, where creators, platforms, brands and other partners increasingly operate across overlapping creative and commercial ecosystems.

Operated by Olympia Events, the new ICC forms part of the wider transformation of the Olympia estate, combining purpose-built conference facilities with entertainment, hospitality and business. Its day-to-evening offer is designed to give organisers greater flexibility while allowing delegates to meet, stay and connect across the wider destination beyond the main event programme.

“WorldBuilder Summit represents the kind of ambitious, next-generation event we want to help grow at Olympia. It is entering a new market, building an international community and creating a format that extends beyond a conventional conference. We’re delighted WorldBuilder Summit has chosen Olympia for its first EMEA edition and look forward to supporting its growth in London.”

Adam Pollington, Sales Director at Olympia Events, said the summit’s international expansion and community-led format aligned with Olympia’s ambitions for its new ICC and wider destination.

WorldBuilder Summit is designed specifically for the creators building immersive worlds and experiences across platforms including Roblox, Fortnite and Minecraft. Bringing together creators, studios, brands and platforms, it positions itself as the only dedicated global event focused on this emerging economy.

The sector is also challenging established definitions of what constitutes creative production. As platforms enable individuals to develop not only content but intellectual property, communities and commercial ventures, the summit aims to provide a meeting place for an industry developing at the intersection of gaming, technology and entertainment.

“Creators are no longer simply making content. They are building worlds, characters, communities and businesses inside digital platforms. If a young Shakespeare were working today, he might well be building games.

“Despite this, we still lacked a dedicated place for the people driving this rapidly growing creative economy forward to meet, learn and build relationships. WorldBuilder Summit was created to fill that gap, and bringing the event to London gives us the opportunity to connect this community across Europe, the Middle East and Africa for the first time.”

With its London launch, WorldBuilder Summit is extending a conference concept first tested in Los Angeles into a broader international market, while Olympia’s new ICC provides the physical setting for a community whose professional relationships increasingly span gaming, creative industries, technology and digital platforms.
