The World PCO Alliance (our longtime HQ partner) has elected new bodies for its board: Nancy Tan was elected president, André Vietor is the new vice-president and Sumate Sudasna was elected treasurer.
The elections were held at the Alliance’s Annual General Meeting, which took place May 26, 2021. Nancy Tan of Singapore-based Ace:Daytons Direct is the Alliance’s new President, taking over from Noel Mitchell of Keynote PCO. André Vietor of Spain’s BCO Congresos is the new Vice-President, and Sumate Sudasna of Thailand’s Conference and Destination Management (CDM) will serve as Treasurer. The new officers will serve two-year terms, beginning July 1, 2021.
“I am very honored to assume this new role,” says Tan, who is one of the Alliance’s founding partners. “Thanks to Noel Mitchell, our immediate past-president and all our past presidents for having laid the foundation. I am very excited to work with them and our other new officers to contribute to the Alliance’s continued growth, and to serve our members from around the globe as we all look ahead to a new, post-COVID normal.”
“I am grateful for the confidence of having been appointed Vice-President and very much pleased to support Nancy in her new role as President,” says Vietor. “These are critical times for our profession and the whole meetings industry, and we are ready to lead the change towards a new era post-COVID.”
Says Sudasna, “I am honored to join the Alliance board as Treasurer. I look forward to working with the President, Vice President and Secretary-General as we work towards new goals for the Alliance.”
Kaoru Shibuta, Executive Managing Director, Congrès Inc. was re-appointed as the Alliance’s Secretary-General and the secretariat will continue to be managed by the company, based in Japan.
