Association professionals and PCOs looking for inspiration for future conferences will have the opportunity to experience Bruges first-hand this September, as Visit Bruges Convention Bureau hosts an exclusive familiarisation trip showcasing the Belgian city's meetings and events offering.
Taking place on 29 and 30 September, the initiative has been designed to give hosted buyers an in-depth introduction to Bruges' conference infrastructure, hospitality sector and local expertise through a curated programme of site inspections, networking opportunities and destination experiences. Participants can choose to attend either a one-day programme or the full two-day experience, which includes an overnight stay and an exclusive evening programme.
While internationally recognised for its UNESCO World Heritage status and medieval architecture, Bruges has steadily strengthened its position as an international meetings destination. The city combines a compact, highly walkable historic centre with modern conference facilities capable of accommodating events for up to 1,500 delegates, offering organisers an accessible and low-impact environment where venues, hotels and cultural attractions are all within easy reach.
The FAM trip will take participants beyond the city's iconic canals and historic landmarks to discover contemporary meeting venues, distinctive event spaces, leading hotels and local partners. The programme also includes opportunities to experience Bruges' cultural and culinary heritage, giving planners a first-hand understanding of how the destination blends authentic local character with professional event infrastructure.
Participation is free of charge and includes return train travel from Brussels, accommodation, meals and the full hosted programme, making it an accessible opportunity for association executives and professional congress organisers considering Bruges for future meetings.
Registration is now open via the Visit Bruges Convention Bureau, with places available for association representatives and PCOs interested in exploring the destination's conference offering.
