Vilnius has been awarded to host BPW Europe 19th Regional Conference and Young BPW Symposium, scheduled to take place on May 18–21, 2028.
This significant international event, expected to gather around 600 participants from across the globe, will enhance the city’s visibility on the world stage and further cement its reputation as a leading center for international conferences.
BPW International, one of the world’s largest networks for women in business and professional fields, connects over 18,000 members in Europe and more than 24,000 globally. Held every three years, the event attracts hundreds of participants, including business leaders, policymakers, academics, and emerging young women leaders.
Vilnius won the bid against cities in Turkey by a wide margin, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the city’s tourism and business development agency, Go Vilnius, and its Conference Bureau. Vita Žilinskaitė, Head of the Conference Bureau, expressed her pride and confidence in Vilnius’ ability to meet all organisational challenges and deliver a successful event.
“Conferences like BPW Europe increase Vilnius’ international visibility and provide opportunities to share global experiences. Attracting international events not only supports the city’s economic development but also strengthens cultural and social cooperation. We are proud to host this event and look forward to welcoming the world to Vilnius in 2028,” said Žilinskaitė.
The successful bid was the result of years of dedicated work by the Vilnius Business Women’s Club, led by Irma Spudienė. She highlighted the extensive efforts made, including building relationships with women’s club leaders and advocating for Vilnius as a host city during visits to eight countries.
“Our victory is a testament to teamwork and perseverance. After several unsuccessful attempts in previous years, we remained committed to our goal. Hearing that we won the bid was an unforgettable moment,” Spudienė shared.
The conference will feature sessions on leadership, gender equality, sustainable development, innovation, technology, and youth empowerment, fostering collaboration and inspiring change.
In addition to this landmark event, Vilnius is preparing to host another significant gathering, the Nordic Region Mid-term Meeting of the Ladies Circle network, scheduled for January 23–25, 2026, which is expected to attract around 250 participants.
By hosting these prestigious events, Vilnius is not only showcasing its hospitality but also strengthening its role as a global advocate for women’s leadership, innovation, and collaboration.
