VCET Strengthens Leadership with New Appointments

Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Steve Dimopoulos, and Victorian Convention and Event Trust (VCET) Chair, The Hon. John Brumby AO, have announced the appointments of Andrew Fairley AM and Glenn Carmody, further expanding the Trust’s depth of expertise and experience.

Andrew Fairley AM has a long-standing career in the tourism sector. He has served in senior leadership roles including Director of Tourism Victoria, Deputy Chair of Tourism Australia, Chair of Parks Victoria and Zoos Victoria, and Director of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority.

A practising commercial and equity lawyer, Andrew is also Chair of Qualitas Limited, an ASX-listed funds manager with over $10.5 billion in assets under management, and a director of Goulburn Valley Water.

Deeply involved in philanthropy, Andrew serves as Deputy Chair of the Mornington Peninsula Foundation and is Emeritus Chair of the Sir Andrew Fairley Foundation.

Glenn Carmody brings over 35 years of experience with EY, where he held several senior roles, including Oceania Managing Partner for Assurance. He has extensive expertise in governance and financial reporting, driving revenue growth and implementing long-term strategies for sustainability.

Glenn has served as a Director of the Victoria Racing Club for eight years, including six years as Honorary Treasurer. He is also Chair of the Foundation for Very Special Kids, which supports children with life-limiting conditions.
