The 17th International Congress of Immunology (ICI), co-sponsored by the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS) and the Chinese Society for Immunology (CSI), was held in China National Convention Center (CNCC) at Beijing from October 19 to 23, 2019.
During the five days of the congress, 13 symposiums, 13 academic seminars, as well as 10 corporate satellite symposiums were arranged every day. There were also educational exchanges on as many as 52 topics. Among the participants, nearly 300 top experts in immunology and scholars from top universities in the world participated in plentiful social gatherings and face-to-face exchanges. This congress integrated academic exchange and international cooperation, and it was an unprecedented event of immunology. The rich reception experience and quick response ability of CNCC have won the recognition of the organizers.
The relationship between CNCC and the International Union of Immunological Societies can be traced back to 2011. At the end of 2011, CNCC received a site visit of the Chinese Society for Immunology.
In January 2013, the international business development team of CNCC took the initiative to contact the International Union of Immunological Societies and assisted it to find the domestic organizer, the Chinese society of immunology, and provided full support to the bidding. In June 2013, CNCC received a site visit from the International Union of Immunological Societies together with the Chinese Society of Immunology. In August of the same year, the international business development team sent staff to the 15th International Congress of Immunology in Milan to bid and to introduced the venue.
Finally, China beat Germany, Greece, Russia, and Iceland to win the right to host the 17th International Congress of Immunology in 2019. The international business development team collected sufficient information, took charge of the docking work with the International Union of Immunological Societies, finalized details, and actively participated in the preparation of bidding documents. The international business development department played a crucial role in assisting the Chinese society of immunology to successfully win the bid for the 2019 International Congress of Immunology.
The bid of the International Congress of Immunology has enriched the experience of the international business development team in bidding for international conferences. The team will continue to explore the bidding and landing methods of the international conference based on this bid experience. The team will ensure the smooth development of the front-end work from the following two aspects.
Firstly, the international business development department will reinforce the search of international conferences, and take the initiative to get in touch with the decision-makers of the conferences, understand their needs, and prepare for the bid for the international conference.
Secondly, the international business development department will pay more attention to the publicity and promotion of the CNCC in the international market. From the perspective of global media, international social media platforms, high-quality activities within the MICE industry, and other aspects, the team will enhance the publicity, improve the international visibility of CNCC, and make it the first choice for event organizers.
The international business development team will actively participate in the bidding for international conferences, attract more international conferences to CNCC, and provide professional, high-quality, and efficient services to enhance the comprehensive influence of CNCC.
