The Penang International Travel Exchange (PITE), Malaysia’s only homegrown business events tradeshow will be expanding to four different regions this year in a digital tradeshow format once again.

Owned by the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB), the PITE 2021 Digital Show is organised by Penang-based Professional Conference Organiser (PCO) ACE Conferences & Exhibitions and partnered with Official Media Partner – Travel Industry Network (TIN) Media.

As shared during the press conference held at Tropical Spice Garden, the official streaming hub for this year’s PITE 2021 Digital Show, the travel exchange will happen from October 25 – 26 for the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions, while from October 28 – 29 will focus on the Europe and UK regions.

The PITE 2021 Digital Show’s programme will incorporate key components such as business matching between buyers and exhibitors, as well as creating an extensive marketplace for the travel and business events industries to welcome back future international businesses into Penang and Malaysia within the next few years.

Other parts of the programme include virtual networking sessions and some education sessions, all taking place virtually in a simulated exhibition centre. The show will have more than 100 buyers, with 40 exhibitors from Penang and throughout Malaysia.

“As we start to prepare for the possibility of international travel soon, it is important for us to proceed with our existing marketing efforts, while still revolving around the message of safety and security in travel and in organising events,” said Ashwin Gunasekeran, CEO of PCEB during his speech.

Penang holds great promise as a preferred destination for tourism and various business events activities especially for the European market, namely ones from Corporate Companies, Travel agents, Incentive/ Motivation Houses, Meeting Planners as well as Associations,” he shared.

“We are looking forward to the lifting of restriction measures and move on to the next phase of the National Recovery Plan when the vaccination rate hits 90%,” shared The Hon. Yeoh Soon Hin, Penang State Executive Councillor for Tourism and Creative Economy.

“Soon, I am certain the Malaysian borders will be opened for international guests, and I assure you that Penang is ready, prepared and all set to welcome them,” he continued.
