Penang Launches “Inspiring Meetings” Campaign Ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026

The Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) has officially unveiled its newest business events initiative, “Penang Inspiring Meetings x Visit Malaysia 2026,” during a launch event held at the Penang Waterfront Convention Centre (PWCC) on 24 November 2025.

PWCC fully hosted the event, underscoring its support and collaboration in promoting Penang as a leading destination for business events. This campaign further reinforces Penang’s status as a top-tier location for business events while aligning with the national Visit Malaysia 2026 programme. Through “Penang Inspiring Meetings,” PCEB seeks to draw more business travellers, conferences, and incentive groups, highlighting the diverse attractions found on both Penang Island and the mainland.

“As we approach Visit Malaysia Year 2026, this campaign highlights Penang’s readiness to welcome the world. We aim to elevate Penang’s reputation not only as a premier meetings and incentives destination but also as a hub where meaningful connections and sustainable impact are created,” said Mr. Ashwin Gunasekeran, CEO of PCEB.

Emphasising its ongoing CSR commitments, PCEB has chosen to spotlight the turtle conservation efforts at the Penang Turtle Sanctuary in Pantai Kerachut as a sustainability emblem for the campaign. The turtle signifies endurance, balance, and harmony with the natural environment — values that mirror PCEB’s dedication to growing the business events sector responsibly.

“This collaboration demonstrates how business events can deliver not just economic benefits but also positive contributions to Penang’s environment and community,” added Ashwin.

Looking toward 2026, PCEB plans to broaden its engagement with emerging sectors, nurturing a variety of high-impact business events that support Penang’s goals for sustainable and inclusive development. This includes improved frameworks for meetings, conferences, and exhibitions that encourage innovation, knowledge-sharing, and social responsibility.
