The Barcelona International Convention Centre (CCIB), managed by Fira de Barcelona, will host EANM’25, the 38th Annual Congress of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM), from tomorrow until October 8th.
Recognised globally as the leading event in nuclear medicine, the congress coincides with the association’s 40th anniversary and will bring together more than 8,200 professionals, including top clinicians, researchers, academics, and industry experts.
Nuclear medicine is a medical specialty that uses radiopharmaceuticals to produce images of the body and evaluate the function of organs and tissues. These techniques allow for the early diagnosis of diseases such as certain cancers, cardiovascular conditions, and neurological disorders. In addition, nuclear medicine provides targeted, minimally invasive treatments that act precisely on tumors, reducing side effects and improving patients’ quality of life.
The scientific programme features over 200 sessions covering the latest advances in nuclear medicine, with a focus on theranostics (combining diagnosis and therapy), cutting-edge imaging techniques, neuroimaging, and nuclear cardiology. Key topics include radiopharmaceuticals, radiation protection, artificial intelligence in healthcare, and patient care. Attendees will have access to plenary lectures, workshops, interactive sessions, joint symposia, and debates with internationally renowned specialists.
The congress will also host a 5,000 m² exhibition with more than 180 industry exhibitors presenting the latest technologies and innovations. The programme includes spaces to foster interdisciplinary collaboration with international organisations and to showcase the association’s projects and initiatives.
Furthermore, the congress will reinforce its strong commitment to young professionals. The Young Professionals Lounge will once again serve as a dynamic space for networking and professional exchange, and free accommodation and registration will be offered to 150 participants under 38 years old. As part of the congress, the second edition of EANM Science Day will also take place, opening its doors to high school and university students to discover firsthand the fascinating world of nuclear medicine.
EANM'25 will kick off the last quarter of 2025 at the CCIB, starting an intensive period with over 20 events until the end of the year. Among the most notable are the World Stroke Congress (WSC), the annual meeting of the Spanish Society of Periodontology and Osseointegration (SEPA), the Gartner IT Symposium/XPO, a global reference in the technology sector, and the International Congress on Archives (ICA).
These events consolidate Barcelona as a reference hub for international congresses and strengthen the city’s position at the forefront of innovation, research, and professional collaboration.
