OIC Group has been awarded the EcoVadis Bronze Medal 2026, placing the Italian Professional Congress Organiser among the top 35% of companies assessed by EcoVadis worldwide over the past 12 months.

The recognition comes at a significant point in the Florence-based group’s sustainability journey. In 2026, OIC Group published its first Sustainability Report, bringing together its objectives, results and areas for improvement across environmental, social and governance dimensions.

EcoVadis assesses organisations across four areas — environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement — making the medal a recognition of the policies and practices underpinning the organisation’s broader sustainability approach.

For OIC Group, the EcoVadis assessment forms part of a wider framework that also includes ISO 20121 certification for sustainable event management systems and UNI/PdR 125:2022 certification for gender equality. The latter has helped establish a structured approach to equity through policies, processes and monitoring, while the group says it is extending the same focus to wider questions of inclusion and participation.

The company positions these areas not only as elements of corporate culture, but also as part of the quality and design of the events it delivers for clients.

From responsibility to social impact

That approach has also taken OIC Group further into social impact. During 2026, the organisation joined Oxfam Italia’s “Our business, water to save lives” programme, supporting interventions that provide clean and safe water in humanitarian emergencies.

The relationship has subsequently expanded into project development, with OIC Group identifying Oxfam Italia as one of its key partners for future sustainability and social impact initiatives.

For a PCO, this creates a potential link between corporate responsibility and event design. According to OIC Group, its network of expertise and relationships can be made available to clients through initiatives ranging from awareness-raising and participant engagement to fundraising activities and support for international projects.

The objective is to integrate social responsibility into events in ways that remain consistent with the identity and purpose of each individual event, extending the role of the organiser beyond the delivery of the programme itself.

“The value of this journey is measured above all in the day-to-day experience of the people who work in the company. The certifications we have achieved and the assessment tools we use help us give structure and continuity to our commitments, but they take on their full meaning when they become a guide for choices and initiatives that can translate into concrete opportunities for our people. EcoVadis gives us a snapshot of the results we have achieved and, at the same time, offers us new ideas for continuing to improve, while keeping listening, engagement and the wellbeing of everyone at OIC Group at the centre,” concludes Simona Giuliani, HR Director at OIC Group.

Founded in Florence in 1975, OIC Group was among Italy’s first Professional Congress Organisers and today operates internationally across the meetings industry. The group designs and delivers events, congresses, communication campaigns and training programmes for the healthcare, scientific and association sectors, with established offices in Florence, Milan and Brussels.

OIC Group employs more than 100 professionals and manages an average of 500 events worldwide each year, with human capital, technology and entrepreneurial development identified as key areas of continued investment.
