South Korea is a land of paradoxical landscapes. Modern skyscrapers stand beside ancient temples, while delectable food can be enjoyed at Michelin-star restaurants and humble street food stalls alike. Gorgeous scenery contrasts with the contemporary lines of metropolises. The vibrant nightlife scene juxtaposes with the hard-work ethic of the Koreans during the day. All are accessed easily and reliably with quick public transit.

Korea has also become one of the best MICE destinations in the world. From small meetings to large conferences that book up the cities, South Korea welcomes thousands of corporate travelers every year. Travelers might come for the event, but they stay for the food, nightlife, and culture.

Unique venues in Korea are beautiful backdrops for any international event that will impress visitors. Korea offers a newly selected collection of Korea Unique Venues that will offer an unforgettable experience for any event.

Diverse Settings for Every Need

Companies and organisations that preferred large convention centers in the past have started to look for more special settings and experiences, and interest in “Unique Venues” which highlight local culture and characteristics is increasing.

In Korea, you can find the “Korea Unique Venues”, venues where you can feel the unique concept of the MICE host city or enjoy the unique charms that can only be experienced in the region. While not official MICE facilities (convention center, hotel), these venues allow for hosting MICE events in a unique environment.

2023 Korea Unique Venue Update

The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) is pursuing various projects to lead Korea’s MICE industry, and since 2018, its special division, Korea MICE Bureau (KMB) has been intensively fostering the Korea Unique Venue programme.

The programme first began with a selection of 20 venues, and since then was expanded to 37 venues. The venues are selected through a rigorous selection process, which evaluates based on suitability, scale, and distinct characteristics.

This year, KMB selected 15 new additional venues for a total of 52 venues. This was the first update in three years and with the new selection, KMB hopes to disperse demand for MICE events currently centered on Seoul and large metropolitan cities to more diverse local regions.

The selection process for the new venues began in February this year with an open call from regional organisations (RTO, CVB) for recommended venues. Throughout the months of May and June, on-site evaluations were conducted with industry professionals, and the final selection of 52 venues was announced in July.

The new selection includes Sky 31 Convention and National Gugak Center in Seoul, P.Ark and BUSAN X the SKY in Busan and more for a total of 15 new venues.

2023 Korea Unique Venue Support

This year, KMB is also offering a new KOREA UNIQUE VENUE Support in 2023 as part of its original Corporate Meetings & Incentives Support. Under the new support programme, corporate meeting & incentive groups including a Korea Unique Venue in the itinerary will be eligible for a duplicate upgrade in addition to the original upgrade options. With the upgrade, visiting groups may select from a wider range of support options, which include admission tickets, souvenirs, experience programmes and more.

Korea has a lot to offer when it comes to venues for your event, where a vibrant cultural legacy, comprising music, art, literature, architecture, and cuisine, offers a delightful mix of tradition and modernity. To help you decide what’s right for your event according to your theme and the size of the event, discover wonderful Unique Venues in Korea which will suit your every need.
