End 2015, the Sultanate of Oman celebrated its 45th anniversary, an era of progress under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. Since 1970 he has brought a radical transformation in the life of Omani citizens, whose lifestyle evolved into a modern, forward-looking society, in a country that has witnessed continuous development. However, Oman remains genuine and authentic and wherever you go in Oman, you will still find traditional Arabian hospitality, and historical heritage.

 Bleisure tourism

A new trend in Oman is bleisure tourism where a business trip is linked to a private vacation. Business and leisure go hand in hand when staying at top beach hotels near Muscat like Shangri-La Barr al Jissah Resort & Spa or the Chedi Hotel. Only 10 minutes from the airport the Oman Convention an Exhibition Centre will be opened this year. In between a meeting you can visit the souq of the capital to find a nice souvenir and in the evening you can join a concert at the Royal Opera house.
