MEET TAIWAN is strengthening Taiwan’s MICE talent pipeline through long-term investment in internationally recognised professional qualifications, helping local practitioners build the skills needed to compete in an increasingly global meetings market.
Since 2012, the initiative has supported access to professional certifications including the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM), using international standards as a framework for developing expertise across Taiwan’s business events ecosystem.
Its latest CMP training programme, held over four days on 25–26 July and 1–2 August 2026, brought together professionals from a broad cross-section of the industry and public sector. Participants included representatives from PCOs, PEOs, DMCs, the Kaohsiung City Government, universities and other strategic sectors, reflecting the increasingly diverse expertise required to deliver international conferences and business events.
The programme also attracted participants from Taiwan’s rapidly expanding semiconductor sector. Representatives of the Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute, including members of the team behind the Taiwan-Europe Chip Innovation Forum (TECIF), took part to strengthen their capabilities in planning and delivering international forums and exchanges.
The participation of research and technology professionals points to a wider role for MICE expertise as Taiwan’s key industries deepen their international engagement. By connecting globally recognised certification with the needs of strategic sectors, MEET TAIWAN is seeking to ensure that professional development keeps pace with the country’s evolving position as a destination for knowledge-driven events.
The initiative’s approach extends beyond individual qualifications. By bringing together industry practitioners, government representatives, academia and professionals from key economic sectors, MEET TAIWAN is helping to build a more connected talent ecosystem while strengthening the capabilities available to international event organisers.
Through its continued investment in professional training and certification, MEET TAIWAN is supporting the development of a skilled MICE workforce, strengthening Taiwan’s destination competitiveness and reinforcing its role as a platform for international knowledge exchange.
MEET TAIWAN is Taiwan’s dedicated platform for promoting the country as an international destination for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE). Its work focuses on strengthening Taiwan’s global MICE profile while supporting the development of the local professionals, capabilities and networks needed to attract and deliver international events. Through industry promotion, professional development and collaboration across the public and private sectors, MEET TAIWAN connects Taiwan’s business events community with international opportunities and helps position the destination as a trusted hub for global business and knowledge exchange.
