Azerbaijan is actively strengthening its position in the world of meetings, thanks to the establishment of Azerbaijan Convention Bureau, the first national convention bureau in the region. The Bureau aims to promote Azerbaijan as an international top-class meetings destination and to develop the conference, meeting and incentive sector as an important element of the country's economy.

Azerbaijan, which is hosting the first European Olympic Games in June 2015, is determined to become a strong Meetings Industry player capable of organizing large-scale events, which was also presented during the Eurovision Song Contest in 2012.

The brand-new Baku Convention Center, which will be a proud venue of the 48th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank in the beginning of May 2015, will be completed soon. Being the first major event hosted in this high-tech building, the Meeting will attract up to 3,000 delegates to the country. The Convention Center will have seating for around 3,500 people and be greatly equipped for conferences, corporate events, banquets and concerts – state-of-the-art! It will also benefit from the perfect location in the city center, directly next to the Heydar Aliyev Center, the city's landmark and the architectural masterpiece by Zaha Hadid.

Located in the heart of the city and overlooking the waterfront boulevard, Boulevard Hotel Baku is aimed to be the largest Conference Hotel in Azerbaijan with 818 comfortable rooms and total meeting space of 1,500 sqm. By the time of its opening in the middle of 2015 – the year of the first European Games to be held in Baku – this property will bring the total hotel room capacity of its management company [ABSHERON Hotel Group] to 1,500 guest rooms.
