ICCA concluded its presence at IMEX Frankfurt with a strong emphasis on its ongoing work across research, technology and collaboration, reinforcing its role in supporting the global business events community.

Throughout the week, ICCA engaged with members and wider industry stakeholders, sharing updates on its latest initiatives. These included new technology solutions, major research publications and a series of collaborative developments across the meetings ecosystem.

A key highlight was ICCA Technology, with the presentation of ICCA Business Intelligence Pro, an integrated intelligence suite developed exclusively for ICCA members. The platform consolidates structured datasets and analytical tools to support evidence-based decision-making for destinations and organisations operating in the global meetings market. It combines bid intelligence, strategic diagnostics and expanded visibility of association activity, drawing on ICCA’s long-standing data resources to strengthen planning and competitiveness.

ICCA CEO Dr. Senthil Gopinath said: “Our role is to equip the global meetings industry with reliable intelligence and long‑term perspective. Through our research and technology initiatives, ICCA continues to support members and stakeholders in understanding where meetings take place and how they contribute to economic, social and institutional objectives.”

ICCA also drew attention to the formation of the EEEIA, described as a milestone reflecting a shared commitment across the industry to deeper collaboration, stronger alignment and collective progress within the events ecosystem.

Research remained central to ICCA’s presence at IMEX. The organisation showcased the latest edition of ICCA GlobeWatch: Business Analytics – Country & City Rankings 2025, ICCA’s flagship research publication and widely regarded as the definitive global reference for international association meetings.

Produced by the ICCA Research team, the 2025 Rankings analyse data from more than 12,438 international association meetings worldwide, offering authoritative insight into the scale, distribution and evolution of the global meetings and events landscape. The Rankings continue to serve as a leading global benchmark, providing structured intelligence into international meeting activity by country, city, region and sector.

This year’s edition introduces a more strategic and contextual layer to the analysis. Alongside the core country and city rankings, the 2025 report expands its scope with deeper insights organised by region, meeting size and sector, combining robust data analysis with geographical perspective and forward-looking intelligence. These enhancements reinforce ICCA’s commitment to regional advocacy and highlight the role of association meetings as platforms for policy alignment, knowledge exchange and long-term destination legacy, while reflecting the continued evolution of the ICCA Rankings as the leading global benchmark for international association meetings.

Gopinath commented: “Evidence-based research is central to ICCA’s mission. With GlobeWatch 2025, we are equipping our members with the intelligence they need to make informed decisions, strengthen their global positioning and clearly demonstrate the economic, social and knowledge impact of international meetings.”

As IMEX Frankfurt came to a close, ICCA reaffirmed its commitment to serving as the global community for the business events industry, supporting its members through authoritative research, trusted data and member-focused innovation.

With the release of ICCA GlobeWatch 2025, ICCA reinforces its role as a trusted source of intelligence for the global meetings and events sector, and continues to champion the economic, social and knowledge impact of international association meetings.
