ICCA, the global leader in the international business events industry, has announced the locations for its next two Congresses. The 66th ICCA Congress will take place from 24–27 October 2027 in Kigali, Rwanda, followed by the 67th ICCA Congress, scheduled for 12–15 November 2028 in Muscat, Oman.

ICCA is a truly global community, and the Congress exemplifies this spirit. Every year, ICCA partners with different regions to host this flagship event, strengthening local business events communities, fostering opportunities for global membership, and supporting positive international impact. By selecting Kigali and Muscat as the next host destinations, ICCA continues its commitment to expanding the Congress to new horizons, building meaningful regional legacies, connecting diverse communities, and inviting the global community to experience and contribute to these vibrant locations.

ICCA Congresses are more than world-class, industry-leading events. They provide a platform for collaboration, transformation, and business opportunities, offering members a chance to drive growth collectively and advance the global business events industry.

Dr. Senthil Gopinath, CEO of ICCA, said: “ICCA is delighted to bring our Congress to Kigali in 2027 and Muscat in 2028. Both destinations exemplify the ambition, creativity, and commitment to excellence that define the global business events community. As ICCA continues to lead the business events industry forward, these Congresses will provide powerful platforms for collaboration, transformation, business opportunities for members, and shared growth. We are incredibly excited for the journey ahead. Each Congress offers a unique opportunity for our community to unite, exchange ideas, and shape the future of our industry. Kigali and Muscat will help us elevate our global conversations to new heights.”

Kigali: Catalysing Africa’s Rise in the Global MICE Stage

The 66th ICCA Congress marks a historic moment for both ICCA and the African continent. Hosted in Kigali, the event will bring together representatives from across Africa alongside leading industry figures to focus on growth strategies, capacity building, and Africa’s expanding role in the global business events sector.

Recognised as one of Africa’s most dynamic and forward-looking meeting destinations, Kigali has rapidly become a hub for international conferences and association events. With world-class infrastructure, a strong reputation for quality and efficiency, and a clear commitment to sustainability, Rwanda provides a powerful platform for meaningful dialogue and long-term impact.

Janet Karemera, CEO of Rwanda Convention Bureau, said: “It is a great honour for Rwanda to host the ICCA Congress and to welcome the global association community back to Africa for the first time in twenty years. This historic occasion reflects the continent’s growing prominence and leadership within the international MICE industry. Made possible through the steadfast support of our partners and stakeholders, both local and regional, this milestone provides an important opportunity to offer distinguished experiences and to present not only Rwanda’s capabilities but also the collective strength and potential of our regional partners.”

The Kigali Congress will act as a catalyst for pan-African collaboration, offering destinations, associations, and industry stakeholders a space to align strategies that enhance Africa’s global competitiveness and unlock new opportunities for international business events.

Muscat: Bridging Continents, Cultures, and Collaboration

The 67th ICCA Congress in Muscat will focus on community development, positioning Oman as a central meeting point linking Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. With its strategic location and rich cultural heritage, Muscat provides an ideal setting for ICCA’s global community to strengthen relationships, foster collaboration, and shape the future of the industry worldwide.

With its growing meetings infrastructure, strong hospitality culture, and rising international profile, Oman demonstrates how destinations can serve as bridges across markets, cultures, and ideas. The Muscat Congress will highlight shared responsibility, cross-regional cooperation, and the power of community in driving sustainable growth in the meetings sector.

As ICCA continues to lead the global business events community, the 2027 and 2028 Congresses will play a pivotal role in advancing dialogue, fostering partnerships, and shaping strategies that promote long-term, inclusive growth for the international meetings industry.
