International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) has produced another two award winning graduates of the International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC) Future Shapers program following a competitive on-stage pitch to solve convention centre industry challenges at the AIPC Congress held in Luxembourg last week.

AIPC Future Shapers ‘Visionary’ team, including ICC Sydney’s senior team members, Sathyan Chandrasekhar, Financial Controller and Dana Fish, Senior Manager, Business Development – National Associations, together with other representatives from convention centres across the globe, was recognised for presenting a top new concept to develop a 4-D space visualisation tool that brings to life venue spaces with limitless configurations in real-time for site visits and event planning.

ICC Sydney’s Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Donaghy, praised the venue team members’ commitment to driving innovative solutions and sharing them via AIPC’s global platform.

“Our investment in upskilling and training coupled with our people’s ingenuity ensures that ICC Sydney remains at the fore of event management and technical delivery.

“We are incredibly proud to have established a culture that encourages our team of professionals to participate in developing impactful innovations, such as the Visionary team’s concept, that will help underpin the success we deliver for our clients today and into the future.

“ICC Sydney’s AIPC Future Shaper graduates have certainly represented the venue to the highest possible standard. Their outstanding achievement is a testament to their creativity, collaboration and world class venue management practices,” Mr Donaghy said.

This latest achievement builds on the success of the first cohort that progressed through the AIPC Future Shapers leadership course with the venue’s ‘EventShaper’ team members, Senior Manager - Live Events, Mathew Haynes and Senior Manager - Public Relations, Sandra Rae recognised in the AIPC Future Shapers inaugural program in 2022.

ICC Sydney AIPC’s Future Shapers program is led by AIPC Chief Executive Officer Sven Bossu and an international taskforce including ICC Sydney’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Communication and Sustainability Samantha Glass and was designed to support the development of high performers within the AIPC community. Participants are senior managers with proven leadership skills who are looking for a learning opportunity with practical outcomes that benefit the broader industry.
