ibtm China On Track to Expand International Reach

With China’s developing MICE market continuing to boom and international interest in the industry in the ascendant, ibtm china is on track to once again increase the number of international exhibitors and Hosted Buyers at its 2017 event. 
 

According to Event Director, Cici Chen, international exhibiting space for the 2017 edition is already up 28% against last year. “It’s a very exciting time for the China MICE market. It’s growing exponentially and is continuing to receive high levels of interest from both exhibitors and Hosted Buyers from around the globe.

 

“Our 2016 edition saw a 45% increase on international exhibitors against 2015 and that upwards trend is continuing. We’ve already confirmed some extremely high profile new and returning international exhibitors this year, including Accor hotels, Melia Hotels International, Millennium Hotels and Resorts and Ayana Resort and Spa Bali, with many more in the pipeline.

 

“We’re also seeing high demand from international Hosted Buyers from across the globe and expect to have 68% new Hosted Buyers to ibtm china. Also, the total international Hosted Buyer number target is an increase of 7% against last year – indicative of the burgeoning interest in our market.” 

 

ibtm china takes place in Beijing from 23 – 24 August 2017. The event is the number one event for the region’s MICE industry, gathering over 5,500 meetings industry professionals from around the world.

 

Exhibitors include international venues, hotels, destinations, technology, business travel and events services providers and the show attracts buyers, event planners and all those involved in the decision making process for meetings, events, conferences, incentives, as well as those involved in booking and buying business travel/group travel.

The itinerary for the event has been specifically designed to ensure the very best environment for doing business. A market-leading knowledge programme will be further enhanced in 2017, having seen an increase of over 40% on attendee numbers year-on-year in 2016. There will also be a dedicated training opportunity for international exhibitors and a number of tailored onsite exhibitor events.
