Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe, the world's largest hydrogen trade show, has announced a new long-term partnership with Hamburg Messe und Congress (HMC) and a move to Hamburg from 2024.
Organisers Trans-Global Events and Hamburg Messe und Congress (HMC) have entered into a long-term agreement after moving the fair from Bremen. More than 500 international exhibitors are expected at next year's fair.
"Hamburg is internationally recognised as a leader within the renewable energy sector, and host to many important hydrogen projects," said Robinson. His remarks were echoed by Bernd Aufderheide, CEO of Hamburg Messe und Congress, who added: "We are proud to establish the world’s largest networking platform for the hydrogen sector at the exhibition hub in Hamburg with our partner, Trans-Global Events, from 2024."
The co-operation is a milestone for Hamburg and should help launch new H2 technologies for the energy sector in future. Organised by HMC, the H2 Expo & Conference will become part of the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe in future prompting the cancellation of the event in June 2023.
The City of Hamburg is globally recognised as a world-leading hub for renewable energy and low-carbon hydrogen, and as a pioneer of sustainable mobility especially in the shipping and aerospace industries. HMC also organises WindEnergy Hamburg and SMM, the leading international maritime trade fair.
The Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe is the third global flagship fair for Hamburg. Growth in the hydrogen sector had prompted the move from Bremen to Hamburg. Hydrogen Technology Expo will continue to be held in conjunction with the Carbon Capture Technology Expo, which is the leading event for CCUS and carbon reduction technology.
This partnership will sharpen the focus on the need for carbon removal solutions and promote blue hydrogen production. The dates for the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe 2024 have been set for October 22-24 and return annually to the Hamburg exhibition centre.
