Hong Kong is strengthening its positioning as a business events destination with the opening of a new Visitor Service Centre at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).
Announced yesterday by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), the facility becomes the first service point specifically designed for MICE delegates within a major convention and exhibition venue.
Located at the Harbour Road entrance, the centre is intended to act as an immediate welcome touchpoint for international attendees, helping them navigate the city beyond their conference schedules. The initiative aims to encourage business travellers to extend their stay and engage with Hong Kong’s wider tourism and cultural offer.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Anthony Lau, Executive Director, Hong Kong Tourism Board, said: “The launch of our new MICE Visitor Centre coincides with the flagship global cryptocurrency and Web 3 conference ‘Consensus Hong Kong 2026’. We aim to assist MICE visitors in balancing their business commitments with exploring Hong Kong's diverse tourism offerings through our visitor services, thereby enriching their overall experience.”

The opening coincides with Consensus Hong Kong 2026, one of the city’s major international gatherings this year, highlighting the growing integration between tourism promotion and large-scale business events.
Mr. Michael Lau, Chairman of Consensus Hong Kong, said, “We truly appreciate the HKTB’s support for business events and commitment to enhancing delegate experiences. Having a dedicated Visitor Service Centre right here at HKCEC is invaluable, as it gives our delegates an immediate access to discover all that Hong Kong has to offer—from incredible food and cultural diversity to scenic hikes and iconic experiences. With so many options in the city, the HKTB’s ability to curate and highlight these opportunities is tremendously helpful.”
The centre includes a self-service kiosk providing updated travel information, including major events, seasonal festivities and thematic campaigns promoted by HKTB. Visitors can also access practical guidance on accommodation, transport and itinerary planning.
Open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., the space will be staffed during major conventions and exhibitions to offer on-site assistance and recommendations, reinforcing the city’s strategy of connecting meetings with destination experiences.
