Hamburg Convention Bureau & IAPCO partnership continues

Hamburg Convention Bureau and IAPCO have renewed their partnership through to 2021. The partnership which began in 2015 focuses on building networks with PCOs from around the world, showcasing Germany’s second largest city as a location for international congress business.

Nele Aumann, Head of Division Conventions at Hamburg Convention Bureau, explains:

Our two organisations share the core aim of constantly improving quality standards through professional exchange, innovation, and training. The partnership enables exchange, international benchmarks and learnings between both parties. 

“Our aim is to build a long lasting relationship with the IAPCO and we very much look forward to our ongoing collaboration. As IAPCO’s only destination partner in Europe, we’re in a unique position to show international meeting planners how Hamburg has the creativity and infrastructure to host their next event.”

Sarah Storie-Pugh, Executive Director of IAPCO, adds: “Hamburg has been a destination partner for three years; they are very much part of the IAPCO family and we value their support.”

With sustainability a high priority for Hamburg Convention Bureau, the team also pledged their support for the IAPCO Plastics Pledge to rid the meetings industry of single use plastic. Hamburg is set to share its many green activities and initiatives as part of IAPCO’s 50th Anniversary campaign ‘Not Just A Drop In the Ocean”.

Hamburg Convention Bureau actively promotes knowledge transfer, process optimisation and new benchmarks for the global MICE business on various IAPCO platforms. In addition, Hamburg regularly organises its own events with IAPCO members and will host the IAPCO Advisory Board in May 2019.

Encompassing 116 event planners and congress managers from 41 different countries, the International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO) is a worldwide network that has been promoting the highest performance standards in the MICE sector for many years.
