C&IT has confirmed the city of Glasgow will host its inaugural C&IT Festival of Forums, which will take place from 26th to 29th July 2022, at the SEC.

The Festival of Forums will unite agencies, corporates and more than 175 qualified buyers from across government, association, non-profit and educational sectors, with representatives from more than 80 of Scotland's destinations and venues. The event will also include a senior agency roundtable and several FAM trips will take place to showcase Scotland's regional offer.

Glasgow Convention Bureau and the VisitScotland Business Events team worked closely with the SEC to create a proposal for the C&IT team, pitching against other destinations to secure the winning bid. C&IT said it chose Glasgow for its flexibility, the ability to accommodate multiple events, its accessibility and its character and charm.

Neil Brownlee, Head of Business Events, VisitScotland said: "Glasgow is renowned for being a vibrant and creative city, which makes it the perfect location for the inaugural C&IT Festival of Forums.

"After what has been an incredibly challenging time, the event provides an exceptional platform for Scottish cities and regions to showcase their world-class offerings and expertise to a highly targeted audience of event planners. We are delighted that C&IT has selected Glasgow to host the inaugural Festival of Forums in July 2022. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back to Scotland and to showcase our outstanding facilities and hospitality."

Aileen Crawford, Head of Conventions, Glasgow Convention Bureau said: "Glasgow Convention Bureau is delighted to be working with the team at C&IT, the SEC and VisitScotland on the plans to deliver an engaging and memorable Festival of Forums in 2022. We very much look forward to welcoming C&IT and its delegates to our city next year and getting back to the business of events that we all love."

Calum Di Lieto, Editor, C&IT commented: "The concept of a Festival of Forums was something that C&IT had been keen to make happen. We wanted to bring the entire industry together in a way that would celebrate all types of event planner, and what better time to celebrate than post-pandemic as our industry becomes even more united in its rebirth. Glasgow and the team at VisitScotland Business Events made it clear that they would be the perfect partner for our inaugural Festival of Forums and we are all so excited for what's to come!
