ibtm world, formerly EIBTM, is the annual global flagship event of the ibtm events portfolio and the show takes place in Barcelona, Spain, from November 17th to 19th.
Following the huge success of the introduction last year of the dedicated My Association | My Club Hosted Buyer programme and after evolving it further for this year, it will once again provide Association meeting planners with the flexibility of choice that they need to plan their busy schedule over the course of ibtm world.
Research over the years has shown that one of the main reasons the buyer community attends ibtm world is to find out what’s new in the industry. This is reflected in not only some 3,000 international exhibitors providing every type of service that an Association planner would need, but also education and networking opportunities.
With flexibility the key to the program, Association planners can create their own “self-select” and pre-scheduled appointment diaries effectively arranging their own time in their own way. With access to Hosted Buyer lounges for refreshments and lunch every day and a whole range of networking events, ibtm world provides focused and dedicated opportunities that give real business advantage to their events for the coming years.
Jeton Iseni, European Project Manager, European Huntington’s Disease Network who attended the show last year commented, “I am very pleased with the new flexibility for Association Hosted Buyers, especially around our appointments diary. The difference is that it has given us a great opportunity and time to meet with others in the industry, share knowledge and network.”
This year’s ibtm knowledge programme will feature a number of leading global expert speakers and is based on several topical themes: Connections Mean Everything, Inspirations From Outside, Leading Lights From Leading Events, Innovative Events, Putting Meeting Design Into Practice, Tools for Meetings Productivity, and Industry Engagement. Dr. Rob Davidson, Managing Director, MICE Knowledge and ibtm world Industry Analyst, will present his annual Trends Watch report twice at this year’s show (Tuesday 17th November, 11:30 – 12:30 and Thursday 19th November, 9:00 – 10:00) looking at key themes within the international meetings and events industry currently and for the year ahead.
With inspiration top of mind, ibtm world’s Innovation Zone is one of the most comprehensive areas of the show floor that gives not only live demonstrations of the very latest technology for meeting planners, but also talks and discussions to help with innovation and ideas. A highlight will be a dedicated area for Top Ten Innovators, chosen out of sixty applicants by an independent panel of judges, all of whom will showcase their innovative products and services to the global meetings and events sector.
When joining ibtm world’s My Association | My Club, each Hosted Buyer will also receive complimentary flights, or rail travel and transfers, and accommodation in some of Barcelona’s finest 4/5* hotels.
