The safety of clients and personnel is of the utmost importance at the Finland Convention Bureau. Business events suppliers in Finland monitor and follow the advice of authorities regarding the corona virus situation and work together around health safety to ensure the safety of the facilities and services.

Service providers in Finland wish to ensure personnel and personal safety:

Necessary prevention materials like disinfectant gel and disposable tissues are in use.

Physical distancing is enabled with different procedures:

Space regulations take place in conference facilities and restaurants. There are physical transparent partitions on registration and customer counters.

Health and safety measures have been increased:

Cleaning, sanitation and disinfection regimes of commonly used areas is extra careful. Contactless payment is widely in use. Sanitizing and handwashing stations are provided. Ventilation of venues is being monitored. Food and beverage and banqueting services follow the health and safety measures set by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. This also applies to transportation and logistics and to third party suppliers.

Crowd control is implemented:

Attendee flows will be monitored during events. Registration process can be adapted. Catering will be managed in a way it allows physical distancing.

The Finnish Government recommends that as of 1 August 2020, if the development of the epidemic continues in the current direction without any significant setbacks, events with more than 500 persons may be organised in both indoor and outdoor spaces. Event organisers must ensure the safety of attendees by following the guidelines from the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) concerning safe distances, hygiene practices and limiting the number of visitors, if necessary by dividing activities into smaller sections.

Visit Finland has formed an internal recovery task force that gathers and shares information both internally and externally. You can find practical information for the travel trade during and after the Coronavirus pandemic here: https://www.businessfinland.fi/en/travelrecovery. The task force monitors the situation closely and adjusts the efforts in accordance with the authorities’ recommendations. This page will be updated on an ongoing basis.
