Final countdown begins for Shenyang's new “EXPO”

The Shenyang New World EXPO (EXPO) is only days from its special opening. The new venue will host China’s Annual National Planning Conference 2016 (ANPC) on 24-26 September. Current advance registrations ensure that over 7,000 delegates will attend the event from throughout China.

Cliff Wallace, Chairman of the EXPO’s private management and operating company said, “To host this prestigious event as EXPO’s opening event while celebrating the 60th anniversary Urban Planning Society of China (UPSC) as a part of the event is very special for our professional management team.

ANPC is being organized by Shenyang’s City Planning Bureau. The opportunity to host this major national event necessitated opening EXPO six months before its scheduled formal opening on March 1, 2017. EXPO’s General Manager. Diane CHEN, said: “We have a strong senior management team and staff in place to meet the challenges of the early opening and care for the annual event’s record attendance anticipated.

EXPO is a part of a massive multi-use complex located in Shenyang on the Hunhe River adjacent to the city’s Golden Corridor which runs through the Liaoning provincial capital’s CBD. With 24,000 square meters (sqm) of gross exhibition space and 4,000 sqm of multi-functional convention, meeting and banquet space, EXPO is Northeast China’s newest and most innovative public assembly venue.

Shenyang New World EXPO (Management) Ltd. (SML) is EXPO’s private professional management and operating company. SML is a sister company to Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Ltd. SML is under contract with New World China Land (Shenyang) Ltd, the multi-use project owner which also includes 2 hotels, a massive K11 Art Mall, 3 serviced apartment towers, and 2 office towers.
