FIEXPO Latin America is currently taking place across two venues in San José, Costa Rica, reaffirming its position as a strategic platform for the MICE industry in Latin America and the Caribbean. The event’s educational programme is being held on 9 and 10 June at the Hotel Real InterContinental San José. From 11 to 12 June, the trade show component moves to the Costa Rica Convention Center, a venue known for its environmental performance and sustainable infrastructure.
Rather than presenting itself as a standard trade event, FIEXPO continues to operate as a policy-influencing platform. The agenda prioritises applied learning, strategic dialogue and professional development, with more than 800 delegates representing over 20 countries.
The programme introduces a notable shift in content delivery. Over 30 international speakers are leading sessions that focus on practical outcomes rather than theoretical insights. This includes several globally recognised certification tracks, such as SITE’s CIS, ICCA’s AI Advantage, and MPI’s new Event Impact Forum. The latter addresses neuroinclusion, climate responsibility and sustainability through real-world case studies, embedding sectoral challenges within an educational framework.
FIEXPO also remains committed to strengthening institutional dialogue. The 12th Latin American Political Forum on the Meetings Industry, held as a closed-door session, brings together ministers, secretaries and policymakers to examine how meetings contribute to national development. Other strategic forums include the ICCA International Associations Forum, focused on market intelligence and organisational design, and the PCMA Corporate Forum, which addresses leadership and innovation in the private sector.
Programmes supporting sector renewal are featured prominently. The Convention Bureau Challenge invites DMOs and CVBs to work through real-world challenges under expert facilitation. The Next Generation Summit, developed in collaboration with Universidad Latina de Costa Rica, is designed for professionals under 30, combining peer exchange with mentoring. Meanwhile, the Business Owners Conclave provides a private setting for reviewing operational models, and SITE Iberoamerica Meet hosts a regional discussion on talent retention and leadership pipelines. In a session titled Connecting Minds, speaker Kike Ramírez explores the role of purpose-driven branding and individual leadership in sector transformation.
In parallel, the Education Hubs offer more than 15 simultaneous technical sessions covering themes such as automation, sustainability metrics, generative AI, digital engagement, and event strategy. These sessions are structured as hands-on environments, giving participants direct experience with tools and frameworks.
FIEXPO also functions as an anchor point for a range of concurrent association meetings. These include annual gatherings of the ICCA Latin America and Caribbean Chapter, SITE Iberoamérica, PCMA LATAM, MPI Leaders Meeting, and the IAPCO Strategic Exchange. Their overlap supports inter-organisational alignment and encourages joint initiatives across the region.
At the centre of the week’s programme, the Latin American Political Forum on the Meetings Industry takes place on Tuesday 10 June at the Hotel Real InterContinental San José. This invitation-only event offers a space for high-level dialogue between public officials and association leaders, with a focus on policy frameworks, destination strategy and long-term planning.
FIEXPO Latin America 2025 positions participants not as passive delegates, but as co-developers of an industry in transition. By fostering political engagement, professional certification, environmental accountability and intergenerational knowledge exchange, it offers a model for events that support structural evolution within the global MICE landscape.
