Evenia Olympic Resort, a Costa Brava hub for residential congresses and events
From 1,000 delegates gathering for a congress on the Costa Brava to an executive team meeting in Barcelona or an incentive group heading for Panama’s Pacific coast, Evenia Hotels covers a remarkably broad range of event briefs. The portfolio stretches from Evenia Olympic Resort in Lloret de Mar, on Catalonia’s Costa Brava, where almost 800 rooms surround the dedicated Evenia Olympic Congress Center, to urban meeting hotels in Barcelona and the Evenia Zoraida Resort in Roquetas de Mar, Almería, on Spain’s southern Mediterranean coast. Other Spanish properties include Alcalá de Henares, near Madrid, and Cerler in the Pyrenees. In Panama, Gran Evenia Panamá serves the urban market from the capital, while Gran Evenia Bijao in Santa Clara, Coclé, operates as an all-inclusive Pacific resort for conventions, incentives and residential groups. The family-owned company traces its hotel business to 1965, bringing decades of experience in group accommodation and resort operations into its meetings business.

For meeting planners, the range also creates continuity across different event types. Venue, accommodation, F&B and activities can be coordinated through Evenia, whether the brief calls for a large residential congress, a city meeting or a resort-based incentive.

Evenia Olympic Resort and Congress Center in Lloret de Mar

In Lloret de Mar on Catalonia’s Costa Brava, Evenia Olympic Resort comprises four four-star hotels, Olympic Palace, Olympic Park, Olympic Garden and Olympic Suites, with 793 rooms between them. The resort also contains the dedicated Evenia Olympic Congress Center, which provides more than 4,000 square metres of meeting space for congresses, conventions and parallel-session programmes.

Up to 15 meeting rooms allow programmes to move between plenary sessions, parallel content and smaller working formats. The 605-square-metre Auditorium Palace accommodates up to 770 people theatre-style, while Imperial Park takes up to 500. Smaller rooms suit workshops, board meetings and specialist sessions. At full capacity, the venue can host conventions of around 1,000 participants, depending on configuration.

The range works well for multi-layered programmes. Medical and scientific congresses can keep the main audience together before dividing into specialist sessions, while corporate conventions can separate plenary content, training and management meetings. The resort also hosts longer-format programmes, including dance festivals, sporting events and corporate gatherings combining accommodation with activities.

Olympic meeting rooms
Lloret de Mar adds further value to the residential format. Its hotels, restaurants, beaches, gardens and coastal activities are concentrated within a compact destination, giving organisers options for dinners, networking and off-agenda programming without dispersing delegates across a large metropolitan area. This suits association congresses, corporate conventions, training programmes and specialist festivals where informal interaction is part of the schedule.

Bedrooms, meeting rooms, catering and leisure amenities all sit within the Olympic complex, reducing repeated coach movements during multi-day events. The wider resort covers around 30,000 square metres and includes restaurants, pools, sports and fitness facilities, plus landscaped outdoor areas for breaks or social programming. Evenia Olympic Suites, one of the four hotels, renovated its guestrooms in 2025.

Girona Airport is the closest aviation gateway, while Barcelona offers a broader network of European and international connections. Organisers can therefore work with two arrival points depending on delegate origin, while most of the programme can remain within the same resort once the group is on site.

Other options across Spain

More compact formats call for a different type of hotel. In Barcelona, Evenia Rosselló has dividable meeting rooms for groups of up to 100 people, suiting executive meetings, workshops and smaller corporate events. It has also accommodated participants attending specialist medical programmes elsewhere in the city. Evenia Rocafort, near Plaça d’Espanya and Fira Barcelona Montjuïc, operates at a more intimate scale, with two rooms for around 15 to 20 people. Both can also serve as city bases for delegates attending congresses, exhibitions or specialist programmes elsewhere in Barcelona.

On the Costa de Almería in southern Spain, Evenia Zoraida Resort returns to the residential format. Its main convention space accommodates up to 350 people, supported by a smaller meeting room and accommodation across the beachfront complex. International chess competitions have used the resort as both accommodation and competition venue, making it relevant for sporting groups, specialist events, corporate conventions and incentives. Its southern location also offers a different seasonal option from the Costa Brava.

 Gran Evenia Bijao

Gran Evenia Bijao on Panama’s Pacific coast

In Santa Clara, Coclé, on Panama’s Pacific coast, Gran Evenia Bijao combines a five-star all-inclusive resort with conference facilities for residential groups. The property joined Evenia in December 2022 and underwent a €3.7 million first-phase renovation in 2023, covering guestrooms, restaurants, landscaped areas, convention rooms, and new leisure facilities.

Bijao
The 718-square-metre Gran Ancón accommodates up to 700 people theatre-style or 480 for a banquet. Six smaller meeting rooms, ranging from 85 to 178 square metres, support workshops, breakouts and parallel sessions, while terraces, gardens and beachfront areas can host receptions and social functions.

Accommodation, restaurants, meeting rooms, pools, a waterpark, wellness facilities and beach activities all sit within the resort. A multi-day sales convention can move from morning sessions to lunch, recreation and an evening function without taking the group off site. The same format suits incentives, sales kick-offs, corporate retreats and conventions where shared meals, activities and informal time form part of the programme.

Tocumen International Airport in Panama City provides the main international gateway. Evenia’s presence in the capital also allows programmes to combine city and coast, with Gran Evenia Panamá available for meetings or overnight stays before or after Bijao.

Destination weddings have become another focus at Bijao in 2026, with the resort targeting both domestic and international celebrations. Its residential format allows ceremonies, receptions, guest accommodation, catering and related functions to be coordinated on the same property over several days. Gran Ancón can host larger celebrations, while smaller rooms, terraces and gardens give organisers different settings across the wedding programme.

Gran Evenia Panamá in the capital

Gran Evenia Panamá opened in 2022 in El Cangrejo, Panama City, adding an urban option to the group’s Panamanian portfolio. The Almirante room measures 155 square metres and accommodates up to 135 people theatre-style or 150 for cocktails, while Veraguas offers a similar capacity. Smaller rooms and a rooftop area support workshops, private meetings and social functions.

In September 2025, the hotel hosted the XIV Latin American Congress of Internal Medicine (SOLAMI 2025), a regional scientific meeting covering medical updates and professional exchange across Latin America, including heart failure, cardiovascular risk and metabolic diseases. The hotel has also accommodated delegates attending larger events elsewhere in Panama City, serving both as a meeting venue and residential base.

The city setting suits regional corporate meetings, board gatherings, training programmes and compact congresses. It also allows programmes to combine urban meetings or overnight stays with a residential element at Gran Evenia Bijao on the Pacific coast.

Plan your next event with Evenia

A 20-person management meeting in Barcelona, a 700-person incentive-led convention in Panama and a 1,000-person congress on the Costa Brava place very different demands on organisers. Evenia’s portfolio covers those briefs within the same group, with each property serving a different part of the meetings market.
