The British Motor Museum has announced the start of works on a new Fairfield by Marriott hotel development adjacent to the venue. The property will be the first Fairfield by Marriott in the UK and is scheduled to open in June 2027, adding convenient, high-quality accommodation for conference and event delegates, as well as Museum visitors.

The current programme points to practical completion in May 2027, ahead of a planned opening the following month.

Home to the world’s largest collection of historic British cars, the British Motor Museum is firmly established as a leading destination for conferences, meetings and events. Its flexible spaces cater for groups ranging from six to 600 delegates. The Conference and Exhibition Suite accommodates up to 600 theatre-style and offers direct vehicle access, while the venue also provides 2,255 square metres of exhibition space and 65 acres of outdoor grounds for launches, showcases and large-scale programmes.

For organisers delivering conferences and events, the addition of bedrooms within walking distance of the Museum will significantly enhance the appeal of the site. Residential programmes will be easier to manage, early starts and evening networking more practical, and the overall delegate journey smoother, with minimal travel between venue and accommodation. The hotel will offer guests a dependable, comfortable base to rest and recharge between sessions, helping multi-day events flow more efficiently. Phase one will deliver 142 bedrooms, with a potential second phase of 98 additional rooms subject to demand.

“The British Motor Museum is a distinctive and proven venue for business events, as well as a creative and inspiring destination for visitors,” said Toby Batchelor, Head of Commerce at the British Motor Museum. “Having more bedrooms close by strengthens what we can offer organisers, particularly for multi-day programmes and evening events. The hotel is a separate, independently operated business, but we will be working closely with their management and delivery teams to maximise benefits for our delegates and visitors. For planners, the Fairfield will add an extra layer of ease, with accommodation close at hand and a consistent standard guests can trust.”

As a registered charity, the British Motor Museum depends on income generated through visitors, donations and commercial activities to support its mission to collect, conserve, share and inspire. The new accommodation is expected to broaden the Museum’s appeal, attracting a wider range of business events and leisure visitors alike.

The Fairfield by Marriott brand is centred on the beauty of simplicity, offering a seamless stay experience that prioritises productivity and a great night’s sleep at excellent value. With warm hospitality and trusted essentials, it caters to travellers who appreciate balance and consistency while away from home. The hotel will introduce a strong, internationally recognised accommodation option to the local area. Cycas Hospitality has been appointed as the management partner for the property.

Located in Warwickshire, England, just minutes from Junction 12 of the M40, the venue offers a choice of contemporary spaces for conferences, meetings, exhibitions, training, dinners and awards, including a large, self-contained Conference and Exhibition Suite for up to 600 delegates with a dedicated entrance and vehicle access. For outdoor events, the British Motor Museum has 65 acres of grounds and three hard standing arenas, suited to product launches, activities and team building.
