Bellagroup, one of Denmark’s leading businesses in the hotel, conference, event, and hospitality industry, has announced that it has officially achieved certification as a B Corp, with Bella Center Copenhagen becoming the first major congress and exhibition venue to do so.

B Corp Certification is achieved by companies that meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Bellagroup’s achievement reflects its commitment to Responsible Hospitality, integrating sustainability throughout its operations.

Across its hotels and venues, Bellagroup has spent recent years intensifying its efforts to reduce emissions, improve resource efficiency, strengthen community engagement, and enhance transparency.

Amongst the most notable accomplishments is a 36 % reduction in group-wide Scope 1, 2 and 3 CO₂e emissions since 2019. A 16,000 sqm solar park covering more than a third of Bella Center’s electricity consumption, and a 10% decrease in total waste last year.

Jesper Mark Dixen, CEO of Bellagroup, said: “Becoming a B Corp marks a key milestone in our sustainability journey. We’re proud to set a positive example in venue industry as a B Corp, and we look forward to taking part in the B Corp community as we continue working on our Responsible Hospitality agenda.”

Gitte Rosholm, B Lab Nordics manager, commented: "We’re delighted to welcome Bellagroup to the B Corp community. By joining the global B Corp movement, Bellagroup sets a powerful example for their industry, leading the way and showing how a congress and exhibition venue can contribute to positive change. They’ll be a strong addition to both our Nordic and global community, standing alongside pioneering businesses across sectors that are collectively working toward an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy."

This certification sends a signal to Bellagroup’s clients, partners and guests around the world that sustainability is not an afterthought, but an integral part of the business model. The B Corp framework emphasizes transparency, accountability and continuous improvement in the way the company approaches governance, community, environment, and customers.

For event planners, hotel guests and corporate customers, this means working with a partner committed to measurable positive impact.
