Around 400 dental professionals and researchers are expected in Antwerp for Digital Dentistry Unlocked, the Digital Dentistry Society’s State of the Art Conference, on 16 and 17 October 2026.

Antwerp will host an international gathering of dental professionals and researchers as the Digital Dentistry Society brings its annual State of the Art Conference, Digital Dentistry Unlocked, to the Hilton Antwerp Old Town. The main conference will take place on 16 and 17 October, preceded by a day of workshops and society meetings on 15 October.

The programme will examine how digital technology is being applied to dental care, with sessions covering AI-based imaging, digital orthodontics and endodontics, clinical 3D printing and bioprinting. Discussions will consider both the potential of these technologies and the practical limitations clinicians face when incorporating them into everyday practice.

With more than 1,000 active members across 70 countries, the Digital Dentistry Society brings together an international community focused on the development and application of digital dentistry. The Antwerp conference will provide a forum for clinicians and researchers to exchange evidence, discuss techniques and assess how emerging technologies can translate into clinical practice.

The choice of Antwerp also reflects the city’s activity across health research and digital innovation. Researchers at the University of Antwerp, for example, use 3D design and printing to develop equipment for research and clinical applications.

Veerle Peeters, Sales Director at Antwerp Convention Bureau, said: “We look forward to welcoming the Digital Dentistry Society to Antwerp. The conference is asking how new technology can improve care in the real world, a question that resonates with the work taking place across our city’s health and digital communities.

“Antwerp also gives delegates a chance to connect beyond the conference room. With the Hilton in the heart of our walkable city centre, they can move easily between the scientific programme, conversations with colleagues and the places that make Antwerp distinctive.”

Workshops and social programme

The programme begins on 15 October with pre-conference workshops, followed by the society’s Ambassadors Meeting and a reception at Antwerp City Hall. The conference gala dinner is scheduled for 16 October at Grand Café Horta, giving delegates an opportunity to meet in one of Antwerp’s Art Nouveau settings.

The combination of scientific sessions, professional exchange and a programme extending into the city will bring the international dental community together to explore the practical implications of digital innovation in dentistry.
