Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME), the leading meetings and conventions event in the Asia Pacific region, has today announced the appointment of its new Event Director, Silke Calder, to lead its first hybrid event taking place from 15 March 2021.

With over 20 years of experience across creative agencies, international trade conventions and venues, Silke joins the team at Talk2 Media & Events to spearhead the new model and showcase an event format of the future, which will be both uniquely digital and physical.

Endorsing Silke’s capabilities in leading world-class trade shows, Talk2 Media & Events CEO Matt Pearce said, “We are so excited to welcome Silke to our driven and determined team, and even more excited to showcase to the business events sector how committed we are in helping our industry accelerate growth into next year.

“It's undoubtedly been one of the toughest years for our community that we’ve experienced in a generation. The appointment of a strong leader, particularly as we look to launch AIME’s new hybrid model, means we are strengthening our mission to grow business for those attending the event – both physically and virtually.”

With a recent role as Head of Sales Guest Events at one of the world’s largest trade fairs and venues, Messe Frankfurt Venue GmbH, Silke’s valuable skills will help deliver AIME’s first hybrid event and she is committed to helping kick-start the business events recovery for the Asia Pacific region, and beyond.

“The opportunity to deliver the event’s new format and pave the way for more innovative means for our industry to conduct business is incredibly exciting. Now more than ever, we must harness the power of technology to come together and get business back on track.

“AIME’s DNA of connecting quality buyers and exhibitors to create meaningful connections has not changed, but rather adapted, and I am honoured to be able to deliver what I know is sure to be a stellar event for those attending,” says Silke Calder, Event Director, Talk2 Media & Events.

Silke’s experience leading international events goes hand-in-hand with AIME’s new hybrid model, with 2021 presenting more opportunities than ever for international delegates to attend without any geographical barriers.

AIME is the first event to kick off the Business Events calendar and the first with a hybrid format. AIME will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on 15–17 March February 2021 and be available online 15–26 March. For more details or to submit interest in attending AIME in 2021, visit aime.com.au.
