AIME has appointed Monica Kent-Giles as Marketing Director and Brooke Campbell as Buyer Engagement Director, expanding its executive team as preparations gather pace for its 2027 edition in Melbourne.

AIME is strengthening its leadership team ahead of its 2027 edition with the appointment of Monica Kent-Giles as Marketing Director and Brooke Campbell as Buyer Engagement Director.

The two appointments expand the executive leadership team as AIME prepares to return to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) from 15–17 February 2027, with the show continuing to build its international reach across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

For Silke Calder, AIME Event Director, who enters her seventh year leading the AIME team, the appointments bring additional expertise and fresh perspectives at a key stage in the show's development.

“AIME continues to grow in both scale and impact, with more of the global community across Asia Pacific and beyond coming together each year to connect and do business. Every year we set ourselves the challenge to raise the bar for the industry. Expanding our executive team with leaders of Monica and Brooke's calibre ensures we can further elevate the quality of our show floor connections and deliver an unrivalled experience for our global community,” she says.

“We are excited to welcome Monica and Brooke to the executive leadership team. They are already making their impact felt, bringing new inspiration and specialised skills that strengthen our overall leadership team as preparations for AIME 2027 continue at pace.”

Marketing leadership with an international perspective

Kent-Giles joins AIME with executive experience spanning brand management, internal and external communications, digital marketing and events across APAC, EMEA and the USA.

An experienced marketing leader, she has worked across a range of industries and held senior roles at News Corp in the UK and Australia, the Recruitment, Consulting and Staffing Association (RCSA), Melbourne Airport and PMY Group.

Her career began at the Melbourne Convention Bureau, giving her an early connection to the business events sector and to AIME's home city.

Kent-Giles says her long-standing experience of the show has reinforced her view of its potential as it enters its next phase.

“Having attended AIME over many years, I’ve experienced firsthand the energy, incredible connections and value the show delivers to the business events industry,” she says. “Stepping into the role at such a pivotal moment is a privilege, and I look forward to further elevating its global presence.”

Buyer engagement at the centre of AIME 2027

Campbell joins the leadership team in the newly created role of Buyer Engagement Director, bringing more than 20 years of experience across hotels, wholesale, corporate, events, convention centres and destination bureaux.

Her previous senior roles include positions at Experience Gold Coast, the New Zealand International Convention Centre and the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the home of AIME.

Her remit will centre on strengthening the buyer journey and ensuring AIME continues to attract high-calibre planners from its key global markets.

“AIME is already the benchmark for business events in our region, and I’ve been fortunate to witness this as a show exhibitor, but we are setting an even higher standard for 2027,” she says. “The strength of AIME lies in how precisely we match exhibitors with a curated group of decision-makers ready to do business, and our focus is on enhancing this to make every meeting on the show floor as productive and impactful as possible.”

The appointments come as AIME continues to position its show floor as a platform for targeted business connections, with buyer quality and the effectiveness of exhibitor meetings remaining central to its proposition.

AIME is delivered by Talk2 Media & Events on behalf of the Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB) and will return to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 15–17 February 2027.
