Opening this summer, The Event Complex Aberdeen (TECA) is a brand new event venue in the north east of Scotland, boasting world-class conference and exhibition facilities for organisers and delegates across the globe.

TECA will be showcased on VisitScotland stand F310 at this year’s IMEX in Frankfurt, from 21 – 23 May. The show brings together all the elements event planners need to ignite their imagination when thinking about their next events, and we believe TECA is a great new addition to be considered internationally.

Replacing the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, with 48,000 sq metres of multi-purpose space, TECA offers larger conference halls and suites, a superior arena, spacious hospitality boxes and a contemporary restaurant. The development also comprises two on site hotels, including the adjoining 4-star Hilton with 200 bedrooms and the Aloft Hotel with a further 150 bedrooms.

TECA will also proudly be the most sustainable venue of its type in the UK with an onsite Energy Centre, allowing for a fully integrated approach to sustainability.

With unrivalled public transport connections, TECA is located right next to Aberdeen International Airport – the UK’s most regionally connected airport with links to key hub airports, a few short minutes from the city’s new bypass, and in prime position for the improved rail links between Aberdeen and the North of Scotland, due to be completed this year.

TECA is the UK’s single largest investment of its kind and one of many occurring across Aberdeen, as the energy city looks beyond oil and gas and continues to grow in a range of exciting new industries.  Aberdeen International Airport is undergoing a £20 million expansion, while £30 million is being spent on rejuvenating the city’s art gallery.  New hotels are going up across the city and the new Marischal Square Development, with its refreshing mix of offices, cafes, restaurants and hotels, adds to the city centre’s vibrant and cosmopolitan appeal.

Kim Stephen, Head of Sales – Conferences, Meetings & Banqueting at TECAsaid “IMEX is a key event for us, as it attracts a host of international buyers looking for a destination and venue to hold prestigious events.  Aberdeen is a thriving, cosmopolitan city with many large projects ongoing, one of which is of course TECA, which with 48,000 sq metres of flexible event space really puts Aberdeen, Scotland on the international event map!”

If you’d like to speak to the team at IMEX, please feel free to come along to stand F310 or book a space in our diary here - http://portal.imex-frankfurt.com/vex/exweb.php?uid=386876
