The 3rd Jeju MICE Expo will be held from November 8-10 in ICC JEJU (International Convention Center JEJU) in Jeju, South Korea. This event is hosted by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and organized by Jeju CVB (Jeju Convention & Visitors Bureau).

This show aims to promote the MICE industry of Jeju Island and improve the competitiveness of local businesses. 100 major businesses in the industry from home and abroad were invited to this expo, which will offer business consultations with 65 MICE companies on Jeju Island.

In addition, as a side event, the MICE Job Fair will be held for college students and graduates who look for their career opportunity in the MICE industry. Also, the MICE Talk Concert will be staged with a view to creating jobs in the MICE industry on the island.

JEJU MICE EXPO 2017 starts with a welcoming reception for buyers from home and abroad on November 8. It will hold an opening ceremony, the MICE Job Fair, the MICE Talk Concert, and also provide a platform to hold one- on-one business meetings between buyers and local MICE businesses on November 9. On November 10, domestic and foreign businesses will participate in a FAM tour to explore Jeju Island. Jeju Mice Expo is the first MICE trade fair organized by the provincial government. This year marks the third anniversary since the first event held in 2015.

Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and Jeju CVB planned this expo after realizing that the local MICE businesses have not fully benefited from the steady growth of the MICE industry on Jeju Island. So, the purpose of event is to help local businesses on the island having less access to wider market opportunities overcome the limitations they face in comparison of the companies located in the metropolitan areas.

Jeju CVB carefully selected invitees from the list compiled through MICE expos, road shows, and sales calls. Major buyers are invited, who have a plan to hold a MICE event or have been considered prospective clients who could hold an event on Jeju Island. By using this opportunity, the organizers focus on creating tangible outcomes through one-on-one business consultations. This year's JEJU MICE EXPO will feature more diversity.

65 Jeju MICE Alliances will participate in the expo. The number of international buyers who participate in the event has increased from 35 to 40 and the domestic buyers from 45 to 60 from last year. More business meetings will be arranged. In particular, more international buyers from ASEAN countries are invited with an aim to diversify the market for the development of the tourism industry on Jeju Island. MICE Job Fair will be held as a side event.

On November 9, the MICE Job Fair will be held as a side event, where employers and job seekers could meet each other. One-on-one consultations with the human resources managers of hotels, PCOs, and convention centers will be provided so that the job seekers could get the practical help.

Moreover, the event also offers the MICE Talk Concert. Participants can enjoy free talking and share their experiences and job information with the people from convention centers, PCOs, hotels, Jeju CVB and other MICE businesses.

Lee Seung chan, director of Tourism department at Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and, concurrent chairman of Jeju CVB said, "The Jeju MICE Expo is the only trade fair organized by a provincial government. We will spare no effort to make this opportunity to promote Jeju's MICE industry and assist local MICE companies to proactively respond to external changes and explore new markets through exchanges with buyers home and abroad". He also mentioned, "We will make the MICE Job Fair a regular event with a view to creating opportunities for talented people to have a chance to become leaders in the MICE industry of Jeju Island".
