For its seventh edition, the European Association Summit (EAS), an annual meeting of exchange and networking between international associations, has chosen an evocative theme: "share and co-create". A great way to breathe new life into the world of international associations based in Brussels as well as those established elsewhere in the world.

From February 28 to March 1, 2019, visit.brussels organises the European Association Summit (EAS) at the SQUARE - Brussels Convention Centre. During the event the international associations can share their best practices and case studies in a spirit of cooperation, creativity and innovation.  More than ever, EAS aims to foster the community by bringing together associations, especially since, for seven years, the summit has become the reference event for peer-to-peer exchanges.

In a changing world, the exchange of good practices is essential. This year, the goals of the summit are to:

  • Allow participants to build links between international associations and thus expand their network to develop short-term and long-term initiatives;
  • Develop new models of cooperation and resource use through learning, networking and new projects.

Taking place during two days, at the event there will be opportunities to attend thematic workshops with content provided by associations for associations in an intimate setup.

In addition to the goal of co-creation, the summit also invites associations to contribute together by their actions to the preservation of the environment. Indeed, for the 2019 edition, the visit.brussels Association Bureau has the will to provide a responsible event to show ways to organise an eco-friendly summit.

The organisation team takes the responsibility to leverage the positive impact of the event and mitigate any potential upside impact. For this purpose a plan including the dedication of specific resources, encouraging main stakeholders to adopt sound sustainability practices, and the commitment to specific Key Performance indicators (KPIs) has been put in place.

The aim in the preparation of the upcoming edition has been to identify all local and green resources and to prove that it is possible to create quality events using closely available and responsible solutions. Be green, share and co-create good practices for a common sustainable future shall be the drivers of this event not to be missed by international associations.

Together with our partners, we seize the opportunity to lead by example and create an event model in which the stakeholders increase their awareness and inspiration on more responsible behaviours in their everyday professional challenges.

As we start a new year, it’s the perfect time to continue to educate ourselves, strengthen relationships, and work together to keep the community of international associations heading in the right direction as with growth there are always new opportunities.

We must realize that at EAS we have the opportunity to be surrounded by competent and creative people. So let's try, together, to create a sustainable future with all the associations' community and build from Brussels, one of the best places in the world where to learn, work, and live, a sustainable approach of our various activities.
