The 62nd ICCA Congress in Bangkok will offer ICCA members – and the international association meetings industry – something very different.

The theme for 2023 is "It Starts With Us" which acknowledges ICCA's pivotal role as advocacy champions for sustainability, DEI, legacy, innovation, and creating more business opportunities. The industry has never been in better shape, so this is the time to really use our position of influence.

"It Starts With Us – because we are in the best position to know that change and progress are accelerated by international meetings and the impact that they have on world issues and communities worldwide," Marta Gomes, President of the ICCA Board.

By putting member-led content at the top of the Congress agenda, ICCA is re-imagining how to conceptualise and run their annual congress. Through a dynamic mix of leading international speakers and daily member-led Sharing Hubs, they will be addressing the hopes, needs, and aspirations of their members. They have indicated what it is they want a congress to deliver, and ICCA has listened.

The outcomes, answers, and suggestions generated from three days in Bangkok will form the basis of what the Association will do in 2024 to create a tangible, solution-led value proposition for the industry and beyond.

"This year's Congress is extraordinary, and it is very special because we have looked at new formats... co-creation... wanting the entire ICCA community to come together. Congress will be all about networking and engaging and we want to learn from every corner of the world," Senthil Gopinath, ICCA CEO.

At the 62nd Congress Media Launch, key ICCA - and partner stakeholders - Marta Gomes (President of the ICCA Board), Senthil Gopinath (CEO, ICCA), Ksenija Polla (Head of Education and Legacy Programmes, ICCA) and Ben Goedegebuure (Chief Global Strategy Officer, Maritz – Event Design Partner of ICCA Congress 2023) shared their vision.

The congress will feature also Khun Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya (President, Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau) and Khun Nooch Homrossukon (Conventions Director, TCEB) to add insight from hosts.

"It is an honour for Bangkok, Thailand to be the Congress destination this year. We will make sure delegates get to experience the city at its fullest potential. I would like to take this opportunity to thank ICCA for your trust in us and our beloved country. We can assure you (Congress) will be lots of fun... and will be a memorable experience," Khun Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President TCEB.

ICCA believes the future of the industry Starts With Us, and Congress is the right time and place to reaffirm this. They have the discussion topics, the speakers, the venue, the host city, the social programme, and the delegate numbers from both associations and members to make Bangkok a truly stand out global event.
