The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) has been selected as the official venue for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2022 Summit. The biggest convention centre in Bangkok’s CBD will welcome delegates from all the 21 economies of the participating countries, and will also host the meetings under the APEC theme: “Open. Connect. Balance.” in this November.

Since the first brick was laid in 1991 to the 46th Annual Meeting of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, the QSNCC has attracted wide international recognition that reflects its privileged position in hosting large-scale events such as the APEC Summit.

The QSNCC has undergone redevelopment with a view to a five times larger venue with a greater variety of commercial spaces — the new QSNCC will be ready to break limitations in organising events with 8 exhibition halls, 4 plenary halls, 4 ballrooms and 50 flexible rooms.

Mr. Sakchai Pattarapreechakul, CEO of N.C.C. Management & Development Co., Ltd. — the venue management company — said: “The new QSNCC will be able to accommodate all types of events unlimitedly, featuring cutting-edge technology and complete facilities guaranteed with standards compatible with global top event venues in other countries.”

In terms of technology, QSNCC has prepared its infrastructure to accommodate the use of high-speed Internet including the upcoming 5G, a contactless access system and the intelligence event platform management system. In addition, high-level security technology in accordance with international quality standards will be adopted. “Serving as ‘the ultimate inspiring world class event platform for all’, the upgraded QSNCC will certainly be the new event destination contributing to Thailand’s economic growth,” Mr. Pattarapreechakul added.

The revamped QSNCC includes a new retail mall developed under the "BALM" concept - Bangkok's Active Lifestyle Mall -  to attract and serve health and fitness enthusiasts, urban workers and families with a variety of over 100 leading retail brands, restaurants and amenities.

The restorative potential of the QSNCC retail space will be expanded to 11,000 square metres and divided into various zones, including food and beverage, event support, and 'Active Lifestyle'. The ‘BALM’ retail space will serve the need of urban population’s lifestyle in the modern days. With its convenient location situated inside the QSNCC, customers can easily access the retail space from MRT transit and Benjakitti Forest Park. Something that aims to attract more diverse customers - organisers, visitors and healthy lifestyle and fitness enthusiasts.

Opening in this September, the new QSNCC will go beyond the congress halls.
