The Youth Conference for World Mission (JuMiKo) celebrated its 25th anniversary in January 2018 and has had loyal ties to Messe Stuttgart since 1991. Dorothee Kuhs from the JuMiKo organisation team, knows the reason: "The spacious room concepts with the flexible layout in the ICS International Congress Center Stuttgart are a perfect match for our event format – together with the incredible service commitment of the Messe Stuttgart team, this produces a successful conference concept with eight parallel talks. The good public transport connections, the motorway network and the extensive parking facilities are other major advantages."

The delegates like coming to Stuttgart, a fact which is proved by the high visit numbers. Kuhs knows from numerous conversations why this is the case.

"Our visitors and exhibitors enjoy the ample space in this modern and professionally managed location." The organiser's main objectives are to manage an event of this size and deal with all the visitors in a professional manner. "5,000 people under one roof – this is fantastic for Christian youth work in southern Germany. The Messe Stuttgart team makes a major contribution here," said Kuhs. She greatly appreciates the excellent and collaborative partnership with the employees of the Guest Events Business Division of Messe Stuttgart. "Due to the highly professional and yet very personal support, we can fully concentrate on the event as the organiser. Because we know that 'everything else' is in good hands with the Messe Stuttgart team! We are therefore very grateful to the ICS and all employees," enthused Kuhs about the smooth cooperation over the years. Kuhs is an employee of "Christliche Fachkräfte International". This association stages the JuMiKo on behalf of the Christian movement 'Lebendige Gemeinde' (Living Community). The Christian movement is a consortium of church congregations, youth and community organisations, mission agencies, the Home Group Movement and other Christian initiatives.

Stefan Lohnert, Vice President Guest Events at Messe Stuttgart, regards the JuMiKo as one of the most popular events in his team: "We find a very dedicated organisation team in the JuMiKo with whom cooperation is very enjoyable and goes hand in hand. We are therefore all the more delighted that the JuMiKo also wants to continue at our location in future. The date for 2019 has already been fixed.“

The 25th JuMiKo was celebrated extensively this year. However, the anniversary also caused confusion. "This is due to the fact that we are celebrating the 25th JuMiKo, although the JuMiKo has existed for a longer period of time since this Conference was only celebrated every two years at the beginning. The very first JuMiKo was held in 1981 at Hospitalhof in Stuttgart and the YMCA premises. We have been in the congress rooms of Messe Stuttgart since 1991, initially on the old site in Killesberg and annually in the ICS since 2008. We would also like to remain there in future," said Kuhs.
