The new International Advisory Board brings together nine leaders from across Liberty’s global network to advise on strategic direction, market developments and the evolution of destination management services.

Liberty International Tourism Group (LITG) has established an International Advisory Board to strengthen dialogue between its global leadership and the local partners who own and operate its destination management network. Announced in Salzburg, Austria, in October 2026, the initiative comes as the group marks its 35th anniversary and looks towards its next phase of development.

Founded in Prague in 1991, Liberty is a privately owned destination management network comprising more than 60 partner-owned offices across more than 120 destinations. The creation of the board was agreed by its partners at the network’s Annual Meeting earlier this year, formalising an ongoing forum for regional leaders to contribute to the group’s long-term strategic direction.

Local ownership has been central to Liberty’s operating model, with each office run by partners who understand the specific conditions, opportunities and challenges of their respective destinations. Until now, the Annual Meeting has provided the most visible platform for this exchange. The new board builds on that tradition by creating a dedicated forum for dialogue throughout the year, while retaining a consultative role that complements, rather than replaces, the responsibilities of the group’s leadership.

“Liberty has always been built by its partners. In our 35th anniversary year, the question in front of us is what the next 35 years of Liberty should look like. The people running our offices on the ground are best placed to help answer it. The Advisory Board gives that conversation a dedicated home,” said Mario Enzesberger, Founder and CEO of Liberty International Tourism Group.

The board will examine developments reshaping the travel industry through the experience of those working directly in their markets. Its areas of focus include artificial intelligence, emerging markets and destinations, and the development of new products and experiences. By bringing together perspectives from across its international network, Liberty aims to identify regional trends earlier, encourage greater consistency across destinations and develop experiences that respond to the direction of market demand.

For trade partners, the initiative is intended to strengthen the connection between local market intelligence and the group's broader strategic planning. Sharing insights across regions can help partners anticipate changes in demand, while closer alignment between offices can support a more consistent approach to product development and service delivery. The involvement of destination-level leaders is also intended to ensure that new experiences are informed by detailed knowledge of local markets.

The nine members of the Liberty International Advisory Board represent Latin America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific:

  • Annie Corcoran, Managing Director, Liberty East Africa

  • Charlotte Emborg, Managing Director, Liberty Georgia & Armenia

  • Fernando Filet, CEO, Liberty Brazil

  • Alexandre Gausson, CEO, Liberty Czech Republic & Slovakia

  • Prashant Yadav, CEO, Liberty India, UAE & Oman

  • Kate Lawry, CEO, Liberty New Zealand

  • Melanie Linares, CEO, Liberty Latin America

  • Hakim Nasser, CEO, Liberty Egypt & Jordan

  • Sergio Onorati, CEO, Liberty Italy

Their combined regional responsibilities provide the board with perspectives from a geographically diverse portfolio of destinations, reflecting the breadth of the network and the different market conditions in which its offices operate.

Liberty's anniversary year therefore provides an opportunity not only to reflect on the group's development since 1991, but also to establish a more continuous mechanism for incorporating partner expertise into its future direction. The Advisory Board places local knowledge at the centre of that process, with a mandate focused on the developments likely to influence the network's next stage of growth.

Liberty International Tourism Group provides destination management services across MICE, premium leisure, sports hospitality, cruise ground handling and aircraft charter. Its multilingual teams develop tailored solutions for corporations, agencies and individual travellers, supported by its network of more than 60 offices serving over 120 destinations.
