KUALA LUMPUR, 5 August 2019 – The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre(the Centre) has won the ‘Contribution to Organisation’ award at the Asia HRD Awards 2019. The accolade recognises organisations that have built their successes on innovative systems, processes and practices aimed at overall employee development.
Congratulating the Centre’s Director of Human Resources (HR), Muhammad Vickneswaran and the HR team on the award, the Centre’s General Manager, Alan Pryor, said, “This accolade is an affirmation of the hard work and dedication of our HR Department, as well as our entire team. We are elated to win this award, as we place great emphasis on quality and service excellence, and over the years have really focused on and made great strides in enhancing professional skills and talent with the aim of being an ‘employer of choice’.”
He continued, “This commitment is not only focused on talent management for us, but also growing a sustainable talent pool for the business events industry. This dedication has helped create a culture that encourages innovation, creativity and work-life balance, which have played an important role in our reputation as a world-class facility.”
Under its six cultural pillars – Learning, Coaching, Caring, Communicating, Listening and Changing – the Centre has nurtured and developed a team of dedicated and connected professionals striving for perfection and excellence. This has been a key factor in making the Centre is Malaysia’s premier business events facility and its success to-date.
In line with its efforts to be an ‘employer of choice’, earlier this year, the Centre also unveiled its Employee Enrichment Programme - a new training initiative with City & Guilds and a learning management system developed with GO1 that were launched as part of the Centre’s commitment to service excellence and growing a sustainable talent pool for the local business events industry.
