In addition, the Board, will be working closely with two prominent business schools in the region; SHL Schweizerische Hotelfachschule Luzern and EHL Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne. The aim is to build even stronger ties with the undergraduate/post graduate community; to attract new talent to the industry, create new employment opportunities and boost the region’s economy. The Board will also be meeting with the Schools to ensure that students are armed with the necessary leadership skills and competencies in the modern era of hospitality.

Ingunn Hofseth, President and CEO, HSMAI Europe adds, “Andreas’s contribution as the region’s Chair, along with the new DACH Advisory Board, will be a great source of support and guidance for members, not only for strategic and revenue management insights but offering businesses new avenues to recruit talent and networking events aimed to boost the pipeline of new business.

Even through the pandemic, the hospitality industry in the DACH region has shown great determination and resilience to keep going. 2022 promises to be a year for a green shoots’ recovery. Once travel restrictions lift, whether it’s for business, leisure or “bleisure”, we will want to meet, connect and explore new destinations and cultures. This is an exciting time for the hospitality, event and travel professionals in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to capitalise on opportunities.”
