Directly after the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) congress, which will be attended by 15,000 participants between 3 and 6 June 2020, Messe Frankfurt venues will also be playing host to the annual convention of the European Hematology Association (EHA), which is to take place from 11 to 14 June 2020. In this way, Frankfurt is further expanding its position as a leading venue for major medical congresses, as confirmed by its third success within the space of a year.

EHA is the largest organisation in Europe that is geared towards all medical professionals, researchers and academics with an interest in haematology. The annual congress is to be held in Frankfurt in 2020, having previously taken place in Amsterdam (2019), Stockholm (2018) and Madrid (2017).

Rik Craenmehr, Executive Manager of the European Hematology Association, commented: “Back in Frankfurt again after 19 years, we are looking forward to holding EHA’s 25th anniversary congress here. With its outstanding reachability, international and varied cityscape and wide range of cultural institutions, the city is the perfect backdrop for our anniversary event. The Messe Frankfurt locations will offer our participants – which number more than 12,000 – a prestigious environment, and having Messe Frankfurt as our service partner allows us to draw on its experience and expertise.

Romina Gowin-Becker, Director Project Management Congresses at Messe Frankfurt GmbH, added: “This is a very welcome affirmation of Messe Frankfurt and the service we offer. As well as our locations, we provide organisers with a customised range of reliable services. In this way, we give our customers the necessary scope for creativity while allowing them to focus on the core task of managing their congresses.”

In the application process, the close working relationship between the various city players and with the Frankfurt Hotel Alliance in particular was exemplary and highly effective. As Jutta Heinrich, Director of the Frankfurt Convention Bureau, puts it: “It is so important for us all to pull together”.
