After the EU Parliament President Roberta Metsola’s inspiring message during the ESAE Association Awards on 15 June, and following the inclusion of numerous ESAE suggestions in the European Commission's proposal aiming to simplify and streamline regulations for associations within the EU, the European Society of Association Executives (ESAE) remains committed to enrich the dialogue between European Associations and the EU Institutions, aiming at a more efficient and transparent civil society.

ESAE is pleased to announce its upcoming event, 'Policy Manifestos and Associations' Impact', scheduled to take place at the European Parliament in Brussels on 26 September 2023. This high-level session aims to bring together Association Executives and EU policymakers over dynamic discussions on how to achieve impact in EU Public Affairs.

"Your engagement as a variety of interests groups is vital in making our legislative process informed and facts-based," says Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament

In preparation for the next European Parliament elections, Associations are drafting manifestos to convey the views of their members in their respective industries. In this context, this event will emphasise the role that Associations play in a fact-based debate, taking into account the needs of the European Institutions for timely, non-biased and coherent input that will lead to better legislation.

The session will bring together EU policymakers like Gabriel Mato MEP, and Association Executives including Mike Morrissey, ESAE President, Francesca Stevens, Secretary General of Europen and André Sosbzack, Secretary General of Eurocities. Rosa Armesto, Deputy Director General of FESE and Guido Lobrano, Vice-President and Deputy Director General for Europe at ITI, who co-chairs the ESAE Advocacy Community, will moderate the discussion. The session will be followed by a networking cocktail.

"This event will bring together leading parliamentarians, policy-makers and Association leaders for a debate on how best to showcase the great work that Associations do across Europe to support our society in a breadth of different professions and sectors. Holding the event inside the European Parliament is a sign of the ongoing need to engage with elected politicians and their teams, to ensure discussions are based on facts and held in full transparency," said Mike Morrisey, President, ESAE and CEO, European Cancer Organisation.
