The Valencia Conference Centre has been awarded the World's Best Venue. The Valencian venue has been chosen for the second time in its history as the World's Best Convention Centre by the International Association of Conference Centres (AIPC). This award is currently held by only 10 centres around the world.

At a gala event held on 3rd July in London, to coincide with the AIPC's Annual Congress, the Chairman of the International Association of Conference Centres, Aloysius Arlando, awarded the Valencia Conference Centre the World's Best Convention Centre accolade. This award, which has been conferred by the AIPC for the last 20 years, is the highest international recognition that a conference venue can be given. Only 10 venues around the world have this award, including the Valencia Conference, which won the prize in 2010.

The Association, which comprises more than 185 conference centres in around 60 countries on five continents, aims to support and recognise excellence in convention centre management. The importance of this award is that it is based entirely on the opinions of clients who organize events, mainly congresses and conventions. After a lengthy selection process, carried out by the market research specialist Ipsos, 1,843 customer opinions were analysed, thus guaranteeing the credibility of the award.

“The recognition of a convention centre as the World’s Best in the opinion of its clients is the best recommendation a conference centre can have”, comments Sylvia Andrés, Managing Director of the venue, who received the award from the AIPC Chairman. “It also coincides with the fact that this year we are celebrating our 20th Anniversary, which makes it especially important as an endorsement of the management and the results we have achieved”.

The Chairwoman of the Valencia Conference Centre expressed her satisfaction on hearing the news and congratulated both the Managing Director, Sylvia Andrés, and her team for this award which, in her opinion, "endorses the decisive commitment made by the City Council of Valencia's Sustainable Economic Development Department to support the Centre’s competitiveness and by extension, enable it to continue to be a driving force for the economy, creating jobs and wellbeing for the city. As a result of the outstanding efforts made by the entire team at the Conference Centre, the highly influential role played by the ambassadors and the firm commitment of the City Council of Valencia, we are where we are today", the Chairwoman pointed out and reiterated the fact that the award consolidates the centre as a national and international benchmark. In addition, Sandra Gómez pointed out that this award will once again place the Conference Centre at the apex of European congress venues, coinciding with its 20th anniversary, and confirmed that the City Council of Valencia will "continue its efforts to improve and modernise the facility, enhance its competitiveness, energy efficiency and use of new technologies".
