Seoul Convention Bureau has launched a renewed and upgraded 3D MICE event platform, Virtual Seoul 2.0.

Four new venues have been added to provide pre-scheduled exhibits and meetings (PSA) in addition to pre-existing functions, bringing the platform to a level where a total solution for the MICE event is possible. The newly introduced content management system (CMS) allows event planners to customize their events to their liking, without going through any IT staff. With PLUS SEOUL support for online / hybrid events, event planners can utilize the platform at no extra cost, thus expanding Seoul's destination marketing as an ideal MICE city.

Director at Seoul Tourism Organization, Jihyun Kim said that, “the first version of Virtual Seoul received much attention locally and globally as an innovative case of destination marketing while travelling was strictly restricted. As Virtual Seoul 2.0 was designed to cover most types of events in the MICE industry, it will have a full function as an event platform capable of gaining more hosting. Hybrid events are no longer a trend, but another format that has established itself in these days of 'living with COVID'. As one of the pioneers in this new field, it's time to be more active in platform marketing."

Starting with Coex, the most famous exhibition centre in the country, another MICE infrastructure made the list of Virtual Seoul 2.0 venues: Nodeul Island, Seoul's unique venue on the Hangang River, Seoul City Hall and Seoul Tourism Plaza each serving an outdoor exhibition area, open stage and business meeting room. A total of nine locations in 3D graphics that are more sophisticated than the previous platform not only serve various MICE event functions, but also become attractions throughout the day and night, implementing the host city's time zone. Exhibition related functions have also been added, such as scheduling business meetings, including PSA between buyer and seller, exchanging digital business cards, and managing booths with promotional videos and brochures.

To maximise the convenience of this platform, the CMS provides event organising functions such as setup to stream VODs and branding functions to post logos, banners and promotional videos across the platform. Guide videos for setting up a conference and corporate meetings, virtual exhibits and PSA business meetings will be able to be uploaded to assist event planners. A demo page is also open.
