Russian Convention Bureau takes part in the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF)

September 13, 12:30-14:00 (Building В, Level 6, Conference Hall No. 7) Russian Convention Bureau (RCB) invites participants to join the session entitled “Far East in the Center of Attention.”

How to select and attract international events to the region? How to use effectively the similar experiences of Pacific Asia countries for the benefit of the Far East? Can PPPs become an instrument for effective development and improvement of the event infrastructure of the region? These and other questions will be answered by leading Russian and international experts of the meetings industry, entrepreneurs and representatives of various bodies of authority of Russian regions. The participants of the session will share their experiences and discuss how to invest in business communication conditions and stimulate business activities by means of increasing the event potential of the region, and how to influence the social and economic development of the Far East.

The Russian Convention Bureau, which was created in 2017 with support of the Government of the Russian Federation, carries out a large range of events to promote the country as a great event destination, and helps attract major international happenings to Russia. One of the goals of the Convention Bureau is to create and implement the marketing strategy for promotion of Russia, creation of the national marketing product, promotion of infrastructural opportunities in Russia for holding business events. The Bureau helps bring together companies in the meetings industry to represent jointly Russia’s capabilities on the international market.

At the Eastern Economic Forum agreements will be signed with the Administration of Primorsky Krai, and governments of Kamchatka Krai and Sakhalin Region.

“The main goal of these agreements is to expand strategic cooperation of the Russian Convention Bureau with Russian regions.At present we have already signed strategic partnership agreements with ten regional bodies of authority and 9 major industry unions and associations,” says Alexey Kalachev, Director of the Russian Convention Bureau. “Our joint efforts and our work will be aimed at development of regional potential as centers of business and event tourism and, as a result, we seek to increase the share of Russia on the international market of business events.

As part of the business program, the EEC plans to invite the RCB members as experts and speakers at different seminars and plenary sessions, including “Science Outposts: Creating the Future Today,” and “Development of Tourism: A Cluster Approach and Export of Tourism Services.”

One of the key directions in activitiesof the Russian Convention Bureau is to attract international conventions to Russia to facilitate development of territories and help attract investments. To this end, the Russian Convention Bureau organizes national exhibits at major international specialized exhibitions in the meetings industry. In particular the Russian Convention Bureau represented Russia at a collective exhibit entitled “RUSSIA OPEN TO THE WORLD” at IMEX 2018 in Frankfurt (May 15-17, 2018) where event opportunities were presented by Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republic of Tatarstan, Krasnodar Krai, Tula Region, Sverdlovsk Region, and Kaliningrad Region.  The RCB will represent Russia at upcoming international exhibitions of the event industry: IBTM China (September 12-13, Beijing, China), and IBTM World (November 27-29, Barcelona, Spain).
